Faction of Origin:
Generally sporting black attire Noburu wears a simple collared shirt and pants while walking around the village or on a mission, accompanied by an Uchiha clan crest on his shirts back and a white sash. Not usually one for a fancy occasion, but when a more formal event arises Noburu enjoys wearing his black and white stripped kimono and far more open pair of wooden sandals from his usual shinobi styled ones. His long face is slightly obscured by them luscious locks of black and messy hair, clearly not someone who cares about his looks. Perhaps if he put a bit more care into that area of his life he would be able to show the world his handsome mug, though he was too self-conscious of his height to ever do anything about it thus far. While in the world of shinobi he had proven himself plenty capable Noburu never truly felt comfortable just walking around in public, generally pointing his face down and avoiding eye-contact with strangers and really just most people. It was almost like he became an entirely different person when he was on duty with his head always up and looking around in constant vigilance, his body language was far more composed and confident despite his downright puny size.
Since he could remember Noburu wanted to be a shinobi, entering the shinobi academy as early as he could and passing after two years by the age of six. While his time in the academy was short he would find his genin years long and fruitful. Unfortunately, he didn’t find himself doing too well in the chūnin exams, though he did see growth from these multi-village events and always reinvigorated him for the time in between. His parents weren’t always as supportive as they could have been, being of a similar low stature they worried about his lack of physical strength. This only proved as an additional force to drive him towards what he wanted, sticking to an intense but reasonable training schedule so he wouldn’t overdo things.
Being that he never had the best physical oriented skills Noburu relied on his mind and cunning to get by and focused on honing his skill with Genjutsu. It took seven years as a genin for Noburu to finally get his promotion, though he hadn’t yet figured out how to unlock his Sharingan. He knew it wasn’t always typical to unlock one's eyes by his age but he was anxious to achieve a higher level of perception with Genjutsu as he was told could be achieved. He decided to instead focus on developing his own skills, knowing that one day he was sure to unlock his clan's power and that there was no point in fretting over not having it. This dedication largely took the form of an interest in the sealing arts, starting out as a distraction for his lack of Sharingan but quickly turned into a beloved skill that he would pour countless hours into.
The next decade of his life was spent honing his leadership skills as a squad commander, though luckily his years as a chūnin took place long after the time where insurrections were commonplace. Due to the relatively more peaceful times, he was able to have a more relaxed time and he got to know his those he worked with well. Noburu felt he was able to comfortably socialize with his fellow shinobi, something he hadn't really done before. Time and comfort helped him come out of his shell a little more, trying less to actively avoid anyone and everyone when he wasn't on duty. This went on until the Leaf attacked that he saw real combat as a commander, though he was knocked out during the great Mokuton attack that ravaged their village. While there wasn't much combat he did see from this encounter the last thing Noburu remembered was the sight of his squad member pushing him out of the way as the giant tree attack tore through the building they were in. He woke up later, on the ground outside the window covered in broken glass. Standing up Noburu looked at the bloodied face of Tsubasa, whose corpse was held up by the same tree that crushed her instead of himself. Raising his hand to his face he felt a deep pain in the back of his head, slowly turning into an intense pain that blurred his vision. His knees buckled in an instant, sore from his toss out the window but wounded in the soul as well. It wasn't until later that he realized fully what happened to him, always having expected to manifest his clan's power later in life. Two weeks of training afforded him with the ability consciously use it in combat, greedily chasing after any edge he could with Genjutsu. While this didn't entirely shatter him he closed his doors slightly more, being less open with his fellow shinobi and civilians. It was after this whole experience that he really started to work on his weak points and trained himself physically every day once he’d recovered. His attitude wasn’t the only thing that changed as he finally learned to harness the Doton element and raised his chakra levels to more competently fight for his village.
