Standing alone in the smoke, Saya closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Her scarf served to stop the smoke from choking her, but she still tasted the acrid assault on her tongue. The battlefield was growing more hectic now, but at least Daichi had come back to his senses. The insects that had been blown back by the large monk flew up and joined the swarm in the air. A sudden disappearance of a thousand of her allies gave way to the realization that she had failed in her attempt to stop Yuuma from attacking her friend. The clone that had thrown a dagger into the female's sand sphere had also failed, the girl floating upwards in a manner extremely similar to her sensei's. As if that wasn't enough, a new presence took it's place on the battlefield, diving into the ground among her Shokaichu. The bugs wriggled away from it's presence, knowing full well that fire was the domain of it's master and wary that the summon may use the same techniques.
Time seemed to halt for a moment as a decision presented itself. She had two options, to try to win, or to try to protect her friend. Either way, she could not stand still. Images of more dragons filled her mind as she weighed the two paths ahead of her. She opened her eyes and huffed as she formed a single handseal. Two things happened with the real Saya, firstly, she flickered out of the smoke, a trail of the blinding substance following her rapid movement. Secondly Chiisai walked to the top of Saya's scarf, eyes rotating wildly as he took in the entire battlefield, hands moved through rudimentary seals as walls of earth rose to meet the dragons again. The flicker took Saya backwards, away from the fight. She could not allow herself to fall, she had to be there for her teammates.
Meanwhile the two clones had work of their own to do. The one that had thrown the smokebomb at Yuuma watched as the insects that had attempted to barricade the attack were felled. A glint of steel, and the clone was off, racing towards the monk as he checked on Maia. A swift combination of slashes came out towards his torso as the clone took it's place between her friend and the enemy. The other clone, the one that had attacked Ayane, ran forward to retrieve her dagger. As she did this, she threw the other dagger up towards the bottom of the desert suspension. When the weapon struck the sand, it would break apart into it's components, the Kikaichu. Bugs swarmed up and over the sand and attempted to take hold into the girl's legs.
The real Saya took a deep breath as she came to a stop from her dodge, watching on as fire struck earthen structures. She hated fire, hated the idea of her insects burning to death under it's oppressive force. She cut a quick glance up to the VIP section and then flickered once more. This time it was faster, her body pushing itself to the limits. She hopped over the walls and appeared in the air directly above Rensu. Chiisai locked his gaze onto the fire boy and then he would feel it. A force even more oppressive than his fire. His body would freeze, unable to act as Saya came down from her jump, the full force of her body and flicker drove directly into the top of his head through the pommel of her dagger. The aim was simply to incapacitate, she only wanted to even the odds, but she would do so at any means. Should she hit, she would cover the boy's body in bugs, enough to drain him dry should he wake up before the fight was over.
As Ayane floated into the air and the insects moved from below her, the ones in the air swarmed and converged, attempting to meet her on two fronts. Saya had experience fighting a sand user and expected that eventually the girl would take to the sky. By doing so however, she had pincered herself. As above, so below. The insects would become a torrent of wings and chitin, tearing away at flesh and draining the girl of her chakra as they did so.
