Things finally started picking up with the arrival of additional Konoha forces, though the trapped Joobs and other Kemuri fella were still nervously bouncing around in his mind. Luckily Shouko brought it up and gave Mizui a method of getting up to save them in the form of a large ink bird. Nodding eagerly he boarded the ink creation and retrieved his katana that hung at his side. “Let’s go now! The longer we wait the higher the risk of permanent damage to Joobs!”

He gave a nasty look to the wood user, who seemed to be trying to leverage the hostages as she asked the Hokage what should be down with them. “Fuck that, we’re acting now. You’ve already been given your orders, haven’t you done enough already?” The heat of the moment had Mizui toss caution to the wind, all he cared about was saving as many lives as possible. He knew Shouko was expertly trained with the bow she pointed at the wood user, confident that she’d act if needed and allow him to save the wounded.

Once the bird rose to the position where they hung all wrapped up in branches Mizui surged chakra into his right arm, swelling it up and giving him the extra power needed to cut through the tough wood. Slicing with a ferocious precision Mizui quickly freed the wounded men, the Kemuri fella was particularly close to the edge. Pulling them both onto the bird he yelled to Shouko, needing a more steady ground for the delicate work that was required.

“Shouko, lower the bird so I can start treatment immediately. I need to extract the poison before working on their broken limbs.”

Time being of the essence he immediately sheathed his blade and began refining a huge amount of chakra, having two patients that needed extensive work. Once they were brought back to the ground he focused on Joobs, pressing his left hand against the side of his abdomen and placed his right hand on his stomach to work on collecting and extracting the poison that had donked him out. Being careful to keep the potent poison from coming into contact with his hands he retrieved the empty vials from his robe and bottled it up for later study. Performing the same procedure on the large beefy Kemuri fella he filled another vial with the pathogen, now getting to work on their mangled limbs. A green aura lit up around both his hands, working both patients at the same time to ensure their lives weren’t in danger.

After several minutes he wiped his brow, having exerted quite a bit of chakra in a short amount of time. The both of them were out of death's door, but they would still need to take it easy and likely spend some time in a real hospital before they would be fit for shinobi duty again. Looking to Shouko he gave a reassuring nod, offering a weak report on the two of them. “They’ll live… Probably have to spend a while in the hospital to fully recover, but they should be able to still be shinobi once they’re better.”

Not wanting to push a conversation with their captor after his remarks about stress, Kazu remained quiet after he took his position. His eyes continued to observe all the entrances around him, slowly seeing the rest of his allies file into the area one-by-one. Certainly, there were some that alleviated worry in Kazu's heart-- seeing that Ayano hadn't been injured after disappearing and joining the fray was a relief, and seeing Etsu (whom Kazu didn't know was even here in the first place) reassured him of their safety. Fortunately, it became apparent that their safety wasn't a huge issue either way; the Jounin of Kirigakure, introducing himself as Lyuun Kyo, announced his plans to let all of them go free. The only one to be told to remain was their Hokage.

It was a hard thing to do, leaving the man Kazu idolized so much in the hands of an enemy. The young Uchiha knew better than many how strong his leader really was, something that made him feel better about listening to Kanari's order. And, yet ... It was an order he desperately didn't want to have to follow. He wanted to stay in the area to support Kanari however he could. He was only a Genin, sure, but he knew he had some talent that could be useful! Alas, he had to think of the others, too. His eyes dropped down towards Ayano, then Maia, and then the rest of his team. If they were to depart, he would need to take it upon himself to make sure that all of them got home safely. He swore he'd watch out for all of them.

Before he could leave, tensions rose once again. Ayano announced that she had two prisoners of her own, a remark that influenced Shouko to pull one of her ink-crafted bows, nocked with an arrow directly aimed at Kazu's teammate. Quickly, Kazu stepped over a few steps, positioning himself in front of the small girl with his arms outstretched. "Whoa, let's stay calm! She isn't doing anything harmful!" Kazu called out, looking towards Shouko with sincerity in his eyes. Afterward, he turned his head over his shoulder to look down towards his biggest fan. "They're letting us go home. It's only right to let them have their guys back." With one ally crystallized and an arrow pointing straight at him, Kazu wasn't a fan of sticking around longer than necessary. However, he couldn't leave until the rest of the gang was leaving with him. "Come on, Ayano. It's time to go."

It seemed they had lost this battle. The rampaging jounin from before had been captured, and Kanari had told all of their forces to retreat. Was it possible that as soon as they left, Kanari would continue fighting? Zan didn't know their Kage too much on a personal level, but he could definitely imagine that sort of stubborness coming from him. They had essentially destroyed the Kemurigakure village, and forced an evacuation, so a great blow had been dealt. However, the element of surprise had been lost, and if they were to attack again in the future it would be hard to gain the upperhand. Once again, almost paralyzed by indecision, Zan witnessed Saya leave the area after Kanari's orders. He had told them all to leave, and she obeyed. Was it as simple as that? There were times where he should think for himself and disobey an order from above... At least in theory anyways. But he didn't think this was the time for that. The flame genin would look once more at his teacher and give him a curt nod, and then again at his water swordsman friend before leaving the area. He would make his way back to the village to regroup and discuss what to do next.

Whether it was true or not that the Hokage had known of Kemurigakure's evacuation prior to the destruction of their village was difficult to discern. "Hmph, is that so?" Rumi muttered under her breath. While the twins detected no ill sign of deceit, they weren't sure that they could take him at his word. Could it have been that the clone sent into the village was tasked with scouting the village? It was possible, but to check every street, every house for signs of life? The twin Kage were skeptical. The thoughts surrounding this matter were pushed to the back of their minds as a new reveal came to their attention: Konohagakure had prisoners of their own.

Coming from the petite blonde girl, it was announced that a shinobi from both Kemurigakure and its reinforcements had been captured. That must be Kaoru. Tane surmised, having noted that the bunny-hooded ANBU was notably absent from the battleground that was originally his. Having made the situation somewhat less ideal for their side, Tane and Rumi paused, splitting their attention between the various voices that gave their input on the matter. Ultimately, their focus turned towards Kanari, intent to give him the floor. It was undeniably an important decision.

Given that Kyo and the twins had agreed to release the rest of Konohagakure's forces, only asking that Kanari remain a little while longer while the crystallized Seto was kept in his cage, it would be a worthwhile judge of character to see what Kanari's response to the unfolding scene would be. Tane would wait until after a response, and assuming that no further hostilities broke out, moved to pose a question: "With all that has happened, do you plan to continue this war, Hokage?" The twin Kage knew that wars did not usually end so soon, but it was a hopeful thought. With all that had changed-- the element of surprise lost, Kirigakure's decision to stand with Kemurigakure, and Sunagakure's own mysterious absence from supporting their allies-- the circumstances had certainly shifted from what they once were.

With a soft descent downwards, the Handsome Hokage came to Ayano's side and straight in the path of the archer's shot. With stern eyes, he glared towards Shouko with incredible disapproval and an extended hand towards her. "She does not mean damage, take your goal from her!" To train an arrow on someone merely asking how to handle captives, especially after the surrender had already been sounded? It was a rash and unnecessarily hostile move at a time where they were turning from such things.

Keeping his eyes on Shouko, he answered her at a volume only she would hear: "Leaving them; just go, Tokubetsu Jounin." It was a quiet and, admittedly, a strange moment for a promotion. Though he wasn't sure if or when he would ever get the chance to do so again.

"We will not touch, your special order," Kanari shouted to Shouko. There would be no more conflict on their part, not unless the others sparked it.

It was then that the Kemurikage posed a question- the question- to the Hokage. Not relinquishing his gaze until the archer dropped her bow, Kanari would give only a disappointing answer. "Let all my people go, as you said. I will not answer questions while they are on the edge of a sword. Please," his final word was one of resignation, a final plea to verify the safety of his people before he gave her the inevitable yes she hoped would not come.

As Mizui was lifted by the bird Shouko's eyes stayed trained on the Mokuton user. She was well aware that at any moment the girl could command the trees, make the world around them come alive and attempt to strangle anything it could grab. Once Mizui had cut down the two and called out, the phoenix descended slowly, allowing the medic to begin whatever processes he needed to. A heavy burden felt lifted then and she slacked her draw on the bow slightly. It wasn't until Kanari called out his orders that she finally loosened and eventually dissipated the bow and arrow from her hands. She looked at Kanari then and nodded apologetically. If she were being honest with herself then her nerves were shot and she was on edge. It was no small jump for her to go from slacker to being in the middle of a war.

She slowly stepped back to fall in with Mizui and overlook Jubei and Kaoru's wounds. She felt terribly for both of them, caught off-guard by the girl's technique. She felt doubly awful that she had sensed the technique beforehand and not made mention of it. Would it have mattered though? She recalled that the bug girl had called out Kyo's technique inexplicably before it happened but both Kanari and Seto had been struck by it anyway. She would have to think those things through at a later time, for now she needed to keep her mind clear to act if she sensed any kind of funny business from the opposition. She doubted this however, as it seemed that the Genin were beginning to pile out one by one.

To her loud question, one she did not wish to hide from her enemies came a loud and armed protest. A bow was aimed at her. The child soldier did not faze, her eyes narrowing even moreso. Even if they shot her down now, it would not matter - she'd take their two captives with her if she had to. They held one of their own, she held one of theirs, in the end, the losses would be equal. It was then, however, that Kazu jumped in front of her, sending an unseen shudder through her spine. She didn't care if she were the one to get hurt but Kazu?! That was different! "What are you doing you baka?!" she wished she could say, shout in fact, slap him and grab him and push him away but...she just couldn't.

The other Kiri shinobi suddenly lashed out, speaking as if he had the right to save his allies after capturing one of her own. If the bird would fly at that moment, well, she had no need to crush her victims, she could but wouldn't do it. Not without the permission of her leader. However, finding the captives fifty meters above them was quite the challenge, considering the forest that rested above their heads, but that task was certainly made easier with a sensor-nin helping out. Even if he did find them though, he'd find it quite hard to free them with any regular techniques, let alone with brute strength alone, unless he collaborated with his allies to destroy the thick branches or had an immense amount of strength, the branches would not budge and he would find himself unable to simply cut them free.

Instead of answering their requests or responding, she glanced at her leader once more who, as well, had defended her. That was when she heard his whisper, the whisper to spare their lives and let them go. She nodded and as she wished the branches loosened up slightly, not enough to allow its prisoners to just fall down to their deaths, but enough for the male Kiri nin to be able to drag them out of their constraints. Her eyes widened slightly at the further words of her leader. "Tokubetsu Jounin?!" Did she just...does this mean she could protect her loved ones even better than before?! But how she... Kazu's words emanated within her mind once more. With her captives allowed free reign once more - he and her kage were right, she had no purpose here anymore, and she had a lot of things to think about. She grabbed Kazu's hand with one of her own "Let's go..." she said suddenly in a less intimidating tone. Then they left the scene, leaving the ruined village behind them.

A wave of relief washed over the young Uchiha when Kanari also positioned himself in front of the Genin, warding off the pointed arrow with a steadfast glare. Kazu stood still while the situation continued to play out, watching as the team from Kirigakure moved to retrieve the captured shinobi, removing need for hostility within the situation. The weapon was put down for now. With safety in sight once more, it was time for the group to finally be on their way. When Ayano took Kazu's hand into her own, Kazu held on tightly. His gaze turned once more over to the rest of the released prisoners-- Maia, Konan, and Etsu.

"Come on, everyone, it's time to leave." He spoke to them, gesturing for them all to follow him and Ayano out onto the road back towards their home. After everything that had happened, he was sure that no one could complain about the opportunity to see home once more.

Kanari's reply did little to further their current conversation, rather placing it on hold until the woman on Kirigakure's side dropped her bow. This situation resolved itself without significant issue-- Kaoru and the other shinobi from Kirigakure seemed to have been retrieved, Shouko dropped her bow, and the Konohagakure gang were finally ready to move out. "Go on." Tane spoke to them, urging them towards the expansive forest around them and away from the current scene. The twins made no move, no sign of hostility or deceit, sticking to their word and allowing the rest of Konohagakure's squads to exit peacefully. For now, the Hokage and the crystallized jinchuuriki were the only ones that caught the twin Kage's attention.

After the group thinned itself, the twins' attention returned to Kanari, looking at him expectantly in anticipation of an answer to their previous question. They felt no need to restate the question, figuring that once the previous situation met its resolve and his shinobi were safe, the Handsome Hokage would answer it without further prompting.

Thankfully the Konoha shinobi were able to leave in peace, well, peace in the sense that they wouldn’t be targeted as the retreat was called. Leaving behind the massive destruction caused by Ayane left a horrid pit in his stomach and alleviated the anxiety from his lack of participation in the war’s first strike. Holding his hands up he followed his comrades on the long journey back home, questioning his reasoning for joining up with the shinobi forces in the first place.

I get that war is part of being a shinobi, but why did we have to start this one? What did we gain… Are we… Are we the baddies?

It was time they all be leaving. Maia was excited to finally get home. She would leave and all that good stuff. Everyone was kind of tense, but it was apparent she could go, so she would. She couldn't wait to see her parents when she finally got home.

Moving very protectively of her students and those she's spent enough time with to feel protective over, Etsu leaves as well.
Kazu is right; it's time to leave.
When mentioned by the cocky-sounding Mist-nin, the blonde-haired Jounin would offer the two-fingered peace-sign with a dead-pan face, so make of that what you will. Hyphens.
There are other places to be however, and such places apparently are, unknown in each context, somehow related to the something-awaiting kunoichi.
For the moment, she ensures safe passage of her little Genin kiddos.

Waiting a few minutes for his charges to be out of the area and harm's way, Kanari took a heavy sigh.

"This war will continue," he started plainly and truthfully. The twins had proven their devotion to their people and this place, the truth was the least he could offer her. "As long as the threat of the state does abuse the weaknesses of other countries and overcomes the sovereign state peace... This war will continue."

The Handsome Hokage's eyes, inflamed with resolve- and maybe just a little dust- held fast on Tane. Even if Saizo were no longer around, Kanari could not abide a figurehead who continued to occupy a minor village and a portion of Konoha land.

"If you really are a new Kage, that's where the conversation begins. If you return a previously conquered country, he will treatment."

Still pretty broken and stuff, good ol' Jūbei remained incapacitated throughout this affair. He, in his dreamy, defeated mind, hoped that were he to return to consciousness, he would be surrounded by the same friends that he started with.

Mizui, Shouko, Kyo, and 11-sensei had all made lasting impressions on the genin. Unconsciously, he mustered a weak smile on the corners of his lips.

But still, the clock ticked on.

Kyo watched the others go with a reassuring smile, confused by the nature of the Jounin's response but taking it in the best light possible. She obviously didn't want to seem too taken with him on account of their villages' current state of hostility. While that made sense, he couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. She was cute! The half-shaved kind of punk thing really worked for her. Ah, well. At least all the little ones got away, even if the Hokage was still acting as though he were in control. "That sounds... well, if you'll forgive me, Kemurikage-dono, like a threat. I wouldn't give him anything except his life, or he'll go on believing that he can destroy first and then hash things out later when he's in a bad position. Like a child who hits their brother to take their toy, and only asks to borrow it after getting scolded." Hey that was pretty good. Maybe he should do this wise analogous thing more often.

11 stood around eyeing the group as a whole, The three or four negotiators depending on how you counted the twins, Mizui trying to tend to Jubei and Kaoru, Shouko by his side, and the crystallized Seto. It had taken awhile but finally Konoha forces had been sent home. Playing around with his puppets his listened to the group discuss the status of the war and if it would continue. He watched as his student collected samples of the spores that knocked out two of their own. 11 was going to have to talk with him about that later trying to make a mental note. Kanari informed the group that he would continue the war unless he was 'returned' land that had once belonged to his village. Or at least that was what he had gathered based on what he could understand.

A laugh escaped 11s lips before he could hold it back. The puppets freezing in place. These were not his negotiations to be hashing out. But he felt as though it were time for him to at least say something.

"So just to be clear so we are all aware..." he began "Being in this current situation, the Hokage is still going to threaten war unless he get what he wants? On top of having already destroyed these peoples homes. While might I add we have one of his more skillful shinobi who also happens to be a jinchuuriki captured? Why should they return a weapon like him back to Konoha and let the Hokage or Seto leave scott free? Not a very tactically sound plan if the war were to continue." He finished with a shrug. He felt as though it needed to be said. He wasnt sure if Ryoka was going to continue to have Kiri aid Kemuri if the war pursed. If she did it would be beneficial for them to not return Seto wouldn't it? Where was she anyways?

Now that his two patients were stable he stood up and paid close attention to the negotiations, if they could even be could that. The Foolish Hokage stated that he would continue the war, even with all his pawns removed from the board and his queen captured by the enemy. Both Kyo and 11 sensei made solid points about their lack of faith in the handsome man’s will. Unsure if he should really get involved Mizui did think of one small thing he could do to help in his present situation. Wanting to ensure his timing was appropriate Mizui would wait for the twins to respond to the Hokage if they felt so inclined before making his move. Walking over to the twins he offered a small cough to announce his presence before extending his hand that held one of the vials of pollen he collected.

“Kemurikage. After healing your shinobi from his injuries I collected a sample of the enemies toxin, I want you to have it. If we are indeed to continue this war I’m sure it will prove useful. As Kirigakure’s top chemist I would be open to a collaboration effort at a future time, as long as the Mizukage approves of course.”

Once the vial was taken Mizui would take a few steps back to get closer to his patients, retrieving the pipe from his robes and reigniting the recreational herb packed in the bowl. With cool eyes he surveyed the situation, ready to take a quick drag in order to set his combat stimulant ablaze for a second time in this encounter. Dammit, my reserves are dwindling. I’ll have to start a new batch up when we get home, but who the hell knows when that’ll be...

It took awhile (minutes, even), but finally, the rest of Konohagakure's forces had left the vicinity. Now, all that remained was to deal with the Hokage and the final negotiations regarding the crystallized jinchuuriki. With his allies in the clear, the Hokage gave the answer that Tane and Rumi had hoped wouldn't come: he still intended to continue the war. Destroying significant parts of their village wasn't enough to settle his desire for conflict. Bastard ... Rumi thought to herself and her sister behind gritted teeth. While she couldn't deny looking forward to the chance to strike revenge against those that did her village wrong, the thought of further danger to them was a grim one.

It was a wonder that any hidden village would leave negotiations to a man with the speech skills that Kanari possessed. Even in the middle of such an important discussion, it was difficult to understand what the man was saying. On one hand, his words sounded as though they were requesting the release of Amegakure (a request that made the two natives want to laugh), but common sense dictated that his focus would be placed on the land that Uchiha Hayate had taken from the Land of Fire in his conquest of the Land of Rain. Before the twins had a chance to reply, the higher-ranked members of Kirigakure's forces spoke up. Kyo likened the Hokage's behavior to that of a toddler, while Number 11 reminded the group of how they had the upper hand in the current negotiations.

"You're both right." Rumi replied afterward, nodding to the two of them before turning back to the Hokage. "If you had come to us diplomatically in the first place, maybe we could have worked something out. Kemurigakure isn't as ambitious as Otogakure was under Uchiha Hayate in the past. However ..." Her right hand balled into a tight fist as her eyes swayed to the ruined remnants of her village's walls. "If you think that we'll cave in after this attack, you're an idiot." One of the Kirigakure shinobi that the twins did not recognize stepped forward, holding out a vial of the pollen from earlier. Tane, the closer of the twins to the boy, offered a warm smile as she accepted it, placing it into a pouch within her robes. "Thank you, for this and for helping him." She spoke more gently than her sister had been while addressing the group, keeping the interaction away from drawing any major attention. "I'm sure there is much we could learn from working together on it."

The twins took a short pause, considering their options for their next move. Tane briefly pointed a thumb back towards Number 11 as she began to speak. "As he was saying, there's little point to letting the both of you go for free, not after everything that has happened and with war still on the table. But, in the end, we both want the safety of our own shinobi. I believe you still have one of ours? Uchiha Shouri?" The woman allowed the name to linger on the air for a moment, waiting to see if the Hokage showed any sign of recognition. A hand shot out to point towards the crystallized Jounin. "I propose a trade."

The Sumi's eyes trailed the trail of Genin as they left the scene of what was confirmed by Kanari to be only the beginning of the war. She felt some strange mix of feelings watching them leave. Most of, if not all of, them were younger than her. Knowing how she felt she could only imagine the turmoil that they must be feeling. She wondered how many of them had been drug to the battle and how many had volunteered as the Kirigakure shinobi had. Did any of them have a choice? The way they obeyed their Kage, with silence and an almost defeated demeanor, she feared she already knew the answer to her question. As this was going through her mind thankfully Mizui was able to remove whatever had intruded on Jubei and the Kemuri shinobi's constitution and rendered them unconscious. Her eyes left the Genin and moved to the form of her friend, crumpled atop the phoenix that had carried them all there. He looked pretty banged up but Mizui had mentioned he would recover, it would just take time.

She stepped over to the phoenix and took a seat on it next to Jubei. She placed a hand into his and squeezed unsure if he could feel the gesture. Even if he couldn't she wanted him to know that he wasn't alone and that she was there for him. That made her think of Ryoka, the sting of the slap a phantom sensation on her hand as she thought of her Kage. She was still not present and now that things had settled down Shouko was able to feel how concerned that made her. Her eyes moved across the remaining members of the battle, anything to get her mind off of things.

It was an unbelievable scene, she thought. In the years since joining Ryoka's team she had become a Chuunin, met 3/5ths of the Kage of the world, fought alongside most of the Seven Swordsman, had witnessed the destruction of a village, had nearly killed a Jinchuuriki, all of it happened so fast. Reaching for her scroll and brush she did what she always did when she couldn't relax. She began to paint, slow brushstrokes moved along with Kanari's words, then Kyo's, then Tane and Rumi's. She put the scene into the page, the crystallized Seto, a smile on his face, the Jounin that held a sword up to the encased Jinchuuriki, the three Kage staring intently at one another, 11 and Mizui, the trees and destroyed village in the background. She would mark it down for posterity, for the history books and legends that would be passed down. She painted herself too, next to the battered bodies of her allies atop the blazing phoenix that had heralded them into the battle. She painted the trail of defeated and ordered Genin exiting the Land of Smoke. She would not let this moment be lost to time.

Her eyes turned to the crystallized Seto, careful even now to avoid his gaze, and her stare hardened. I won't let the world forget your defeat here, not after you spoke of Ryoka like that. All generations to come will know that you were the reason Konoha was defeated today. That your overconfidence cost your Kage this battle. That Seto Uchiha was the downfall of Konohagakure. I'll make sure your story is told time and time again. This picture will be a reminder to all generations of the pitfalls of hubris. In time they will forget the names of the people who battled here, the girl who destroyed the village, the swordsman who captured you, but never will they forget the name of Seto Uchiha.

The man who lost his village everything. I'll make sure of it.

"If you had come to us diplomatically in the first place, maybe we could have worked something out. Kemurigakure isn't as ambitious as Otogakure was under Uchiha Hayate in the past. However..."

Kanari's eye twitched briefly at the mere notion that diplomancy would have been effective with this lot. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that such discussions would have fallen on deaf ears. Saizo was an ambitious man from a dangerous lineage, why would he have given up his fledgling empire at the drop of an ask?

Regardless, what-ifs were of little import here and now. What mattered were the cards currently in hand.

"As he was saying, there's little point to letting the both of you go for free, not after everything that has happened and with war still on the table. But, in the end, we both want the safety of our own shinobi. I believe you still have one of ours? Uchiha Shouri?" Despite the lingering of the name, Kanari didn't recognize it any more than Rei's nebulous 'taken alive' 'jounin.' "I propose a trade."

Gritting his teeth behind his luscious lips, he was not exactly thrilled to have to spend an advantage so early on in this war. Still, Seto's predicament left no other option. It can't be helped, I suppose...

"Very well, how do you want to continue?"

The situation was progressing smoothly. Understanding the situation well, the Handsome Hokage was compliant to Tane's initial proposal. When asked to expand upon the exchange, the twins needed a moment to contemplate the possibilities. Ideally, they would want to make the trek to Konohagakure personally to oversee all moments of the trade in order to minimize the risk of unexpected foul play. However, that wasn't a choice they had. With Sunagakure still unaccounted for, it was impossible to guarantee the safety of the rest of the village and her people. No, the strange absence of the Konohagakure's "allies" could mean too many different possibilities: betrayal, delay, some sort of sneak attack ... It was unwise to leave their lands unattended, especially with the others that fought by their side, Shingen and Kaoru, either missing or unconscious.

"Kirigakure shinobi, are you willing to remain here for a little while longer?" Tane turned to the group, making eye contact with each of them as she made her request. After all, they likely needed Kyo to undo the crystallization technique. The added strength to deter Kanari and the rest of Konohagakure from trying anything at the exchange was desirable as well. "Hokage, you will return to your village, and arrange an escort detail for Shouri's release. We will make the exchange a short distance out from where the gates of Kemurigakure once stood. After we can determine that Shouri is unharmed, not tampered with, or anything similar, we shall release Seto back to you, and then we can all be on our way." Knowing Shouri's status as a jinchuuriki, they needed to exercise caution to ensure that nothing was pulled against them. "Does that sound acceptable?"

Even more unexpected than this defeat was the revelation that the leader- of Kemurigakure, of all places- could be so reasonable. For the briefest of moments with the most fleeting of thoughts, Kanari wondered if he was actually in the wrong here. Blinking the thought away, it didn't matter; the Handsome Hokage had a single objective right now: Get Seto home safe.

Kanari predicted there would be little resistance to this trade as discussed, at least not in his presence. Still, it was a Kiri-nin that controlled the crystal. The Handsome Hokage would wait for them to air their thoughts; but, should none be a reason for him to actually stay, this would be where Kanari would take his leave.

"At the same time, Kemurikage ladies. When I organize them, I'll send you the details." With a brief nod, he set off to earnestly do just that. As a fish moves gracefully through water, the Handsome Hokage would suddenly curl upwards and over before leveling his shoulders with the earth. A sudden jolt would be all it took for him to disappear into the weaving vines.

Unless, of course, these last 2 paragraphs were invalidated by future posts.

Well neat. When people looked his way, he pondered keeping the Hokage as well. He probably could, if he threatened Seto, but there wasn't really a point. Kyo'd let the man leave with a wave of his hand, nodding his assent. So, a trade? That was pretty good. Hey... he'd done pretty good. The young Jounin couldn't help a little curl of his lips at the triumph, letting his gaze turn back toward Shouko, over his shoulder, once Kanari had left. She, however, was busy - was she drawing? He'd have to develop an appreciation for art. Well, even he had the grace not to disturb an artist while they were arting.

And man holy shit that line about humble pie and then *actually* one-shotting someone? Alright I can't guarantee everyone will think I'm cool, but more of them than before, he thought, particularly of his sister no doubt waiting at home. "So... I can hang around, I guess, though wielding Hiramekarei like this has taken a lot out of me. I understand why you might have all of us stay, in case they march on you again or do something funny at the exchange, but if anyone wants to go home I won't order them otherwise," he said, glancing to 11 as though to confirm that thought. The two were the senior members of Kiri present, and while Kyo had spoken and acted decisively, the other Jounin had just as much right to give orders to their juniors as the Lyuun did.

As the Chuunin put the finishing touches on her painting she could hear the voice of the Kemurikage address her and her comrades. Looking up to meet the woman's gaze she nodded. After all she was the one that had flown them all there and with the sudden growth that had sprouted around them flying was likely the best way out as well. Kanari seemed to agree with that sentiment as the man jetted from the scene under the pretenses of the Kemurikage's trade offer. She looked down and while Kyo spoke the last of her strokes on the page finished the depiction of the first battle of what was seemingly becoming a fully-fledged war.

"I'll stay as well." She said, pushing herself off of the phoenix and taking a few steps toward the Jounin and his captured statue. She looked over her shoulder, smiling softly and reaching up to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear. "If anyone wants to go home though, I'll paint a second bird for you." After saying that the Sumi unraveled her scroll past the picture of the battle, the scene clearly visible to anyone to look her way, and quickly drew a large raven. The bird's head pushed up from the page followed quickly by the rapidly growing avian. In an instant the newly painted carriage was walking toward the others, 11, Mizui, and Jubei. It was large enough to support all three of them if they decided to head home, if not then it would at least be large enough to hold and transport the unconscious Jubei without fear of him falling off the sides.

"If you decide to leave the bird will fly you straight to the gates as fast as it can."

She turned back to Kyo, looking up at the Jounin and flashed him a smile that showed teeth, "That was really cool, Kyo-san! I hope I didn't get too in the way." She then turned her attention to the Kemurikages and gave them both a deep bow, "I'm glad we could help you. I'm sorry we weren't able to stop the destruction of your village though. If you want some help rebuilding I can paint up an entire army of builders for you?"

11 watched as the hokage left the scene, it seemed as though the negotiations were figured out and a trade would be made. Should the war continue 11 knew he would be brought back to help aid Kemuri. This meant he needed to solve the issues at home quickly. Though the Twins asked for them to stay, Kiri still had things that needed to b taken care of. Jubei still needed to get to a hospital, they needed to find Ryoka and inform her of what happened, was she still even alive. On top of everything he also needed to take care of Mizui. He was a strong shinobi but 11 needed to make sure his student would be prepared no matter the situation.

"I'm sorry to say this is where Mizui and I take our leave." he began "We need to make sure Jubei is tended to and we need to inform our Kage of what happened here. We will return to help when we can. Should things go astray during the trade Kyo remember to keep that heart in tack for me." throwing a wink his way. Let him make of that what he will.

Turning to the twins he would finish "I apologize for not being able to help guard youre village, just know we stand with you!" he would walk over to Mizui and Jubei helping carry the unconcious boy to the raven made of ink. nodding to Shouko in thanks. He would have to make an effort to get to know her and Kyo better when this mess was all sorted out.
