Bloodline Name: Divination Séance
Clan Name: Khura'in
Leader: Ga'ran Sigatar Khura'in (NPC)
Village(s): Sunagakure, Kemurigakure

Clan Description: The Khura'in clan is a relatively dormant clan that has gone under the radar for a few hundred years.

While the original branch of the family stemmed from Kemurigakure, the Village Hidden in the Smoke, it soon spread out to neighboring countries to form smaller sects and branches. Despite this, its growth did not accumulate any new popularity or relevance in its various locations.

What sets this clan apart from most already on the playing field is their innate ability to channel spirits from beyond the grave. Rather than using such conventions as Edo Tensei or Kuchiyose to deal with summoning, those in the Khura'in clan do this via a process known as the Divination Séance.
Clan Traits/Characteristics: Members of the Khura'in clan tend to dress opulently, opting for a more regal look than their surrounding shinobi. Despite this, the clan is comprised entirely of Khura'inese monks. No shinobi or samurai alike have been seen among the ranks of this clan, whether by choice or otherwise. Some say that those who do not take up the monk lifestyle are excommunicated without hesitation.

Clan Personality: Members of the Khura'in tend to exude a regal aura, despite their otherwise calm and gentle mannerisms. Those who have unwavering support for Khura'inism have been known to hold their beliefs very close to their hearts, and may act hostile or holier-than-thou to those who disrespect it. Above all else, though, they are gentle people with caring hearts.

Bloodline Description: The Khura'in are natural spirit mediums, training their minds and bodies to channel spirits and seal away dark entities. Additionally, members of this clan have the gift of communication with dead people, whether friend or foe.

Bloodline Limits: The clan holds their religious beliefs very highly, and does not approve of anything less than true monk status. Those who break their duties as a monk and become impure monks will be cast out from the inner circle of Khura'in, and effectively lose the ability to perform any clan-exclusive techniques.

Clan Techniques:

Name: Divination Séance
Rank: B-Rank
Cost: 10 SP
Range: Self
Type: Khura'inism (Buddhism)
Sub-type: Supplementary
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Notation: Kekkei Genkai
Handsigns: Tiger → Snake → Dog → Dragon → Clap hands
Lore/Flavor: The Khura'in Clan's Divination Séance is the process of calling upon the spirit of a dead person, friend or foe, to witness their final moments through their eyes. Not only does the vision reveal what a spirit saw, but it also shows what they felt, heard, smelled, and tasted at the time.
Description: Performing this technique requires the user to clear their mind and allow the vision to be projected. While on most occasions the visions are exclusive to the user, they may opt to project these visions on a surface such as water, a mirror, or other reflective surfaces, in order to display to those around them.
Drawbacks: Although the visions are infallible, they are limited by the perspective of the deceased and the extremely limited scope of time the Séance captures. The process also requires knowledge of both the victim's face and full name as well as a possession of the deceased in order for the medium to conduct, and can fail if the medium lacks the focus or stamina to carry it out, even if they are already capable.

Name: Khura'in Channeling Technique
Rank: S-Rank
Cost: 20 SP
Range: Self
Type: Khura'inism (Buddhism)
Sub-type: Supplementary
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Notation: Kekkei Genkai
Handsigns: Boar → Dog → Bird → Monkey → Ram
Lore/Flavor: When the user performs the Khura'in Channeling Technique, their body transforms into a likeness of the person they channel. This change extends to their voice and physical appearance, including height, figure, and even body marks like moles or tattoos. Their hair and clothes remain the same, though this does not stop them from altering these features manually to complete a disguise.
Description: In order to channel a spirit successfully, the medium needs to know of the spirit's appearance and true name. From this point, the channeled spirit takes control of the body, and the medium loses consciousness and is unaware of anything the spirit does during the channeling. This unconsciousness is complete, unlike regular sleep in which people dream. The spirit generally leaves voluntarily. However, it is possible to remove a spirit and send it back to the afterlife without its consent, by using the "Spirit Severing Technique". An experienced medium can "control" a channeled spirit for a lengthy period of time, and can send the spirit at will. A channeled spirit remembers the entirety of their corporeal life up to and including the moment of their death, but will not remember any sort of "afterlife" or other activities after death, other than when they are channeled. That is, to the spirit, it is as if they had been channeled right after losing their life, or right after the last time they were channeled. However, if the spirit is forcibly removed, whether it be through an exorcism or through the host body being rendered unconscious, the spirit is unable to tell the difference, as the experience of being exorcised is as if the spirit had fallen unconscious. It is also possible to a spirit to be channeled for several days, however on both occasions this will leave the user in a state of extreme spiritual exhaustion that renders them unconscious for some amount of time.
Drawbacks: As stated above, channeling a spirit for an extended period of time (i.e for more than one post at a time) causes the user to slip into unconsciousness, due to spiritual exhaustion. Another limitation of the technique is that two people may not simultaneously channel the same spirit. However, one medium can "steal" a spirit from a less powerful medium, as well as prevent a less powerful medium from channeling a spirit by channeling it themselves. Requires a possession of the deceased.

Name: Spirit Severing Technique
Rank: C-Rank
Cost: 5 SP
Range: Self
Type: Khura'inism (Buddhism)
Sub-type: Supplementary
Elemental Affinity: N/A
Notation: Kekkei Genkai
Handsigns: N/A
Lore/Flavor: This technique allows the user to dispel a spirit they have channeled with the Khura'in Channeling Technique, whether they consent or otherwise, in order to send them back to the afterlife.
Description: The process is as simple as cutting off the connection between the spirit and host. The technique operates the same as Genjutsu Kai, by disrupting the flow of chakra used to host the spirit.
Drawbacks: N/A
