塵遁の埃 (Jinton no Hokori)
Hokori of the Dust Release

Bloodline Name:

Jinton (塵遁, literally "Dust Release")
Clan Name:
Hokori (埃, literally "Dust")
Leader:
Kyōsuke Chikamatsu
Village(s):
Sunagakure no Sato, Iwagakure no Sato

Note: This clan used to go by the name "Obutsu". It doesn't anymore. We have retconned any references to or of the Obutsu to now refer to Hokori.

Clan Description:

A family that had become lost to the records of time, the Hokori, once notorious for the capacity for power that their bloodline would allow any individual from among them, have gone basically unknown for the last hundred or so years.

Originally native to a village that has seen sufficient destruction and reformation that one would not be remiss, not knowing themselves the truth of the matter, assuming that it no longer existed, the clan has since scattered. In the modern era, the name "Hokori" is much more commonly found among shinobi native to Sunagakure no Sato rather than Iwagakure no Sato.

The bloodline of the family, on the other hand, has seen so little use that the actual practice and knowledge of its techniques has not followed the diaspora of the exiled Hokori. Instead, the only user of the bloodline in the current age has been one without the clan's name: the twenty-eighth Kazekage, Kyōsuke Chikamatsu. More individuals certainly exist with the capacity to use the bloodline, and the Kazekage has set out to ascertain that the knowledge of the bloodline's power does not die with him.

Clan Characteristics:

As a result of the family's diaspora, few physical traits remain that allow a person to sufficiently distinguish a Hokori from any other person by sight alone; other than an above-average height (though not always notably so), and hair colour that generally falls on the lighter set of tones, very few veins of commonalities run among the Hokori. In terms of personality, no member of the clan has been consistent in traits in decades.

Bloodline Description:

The combination of Doton, Fūton, and Katon-based chakra, the kekkei tōta of Jinton allows the user to manipulate molecules to the degree that they can disintegrate anything on a molecular level. As a result of the nature of the kekkei tōta, Jinton does not "clash" in the traditional sense, as other ninjutsu do. Instead, contact with an active Jinton technique diffuses other techniques into the particles that they are made up of. Similarly, its interactions with techniques that absorb chakra and regenerate from damage are different.

Most notably, contact-based absorption of chakra does not prevent damage that would be incurred through contact with Jinton techniques, and regeneration that function by repairing damaged material does not function (as the material is not damaged, but nonexistent). As a result, the properties of techniques like Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei, the Hōzuki clan's Suika no Jutsu, Doton: Doromi no Jutsu, and Shikigami no Mai that allow their users to ignore damage by reconstituting their body null (in the case of Suika no Jutsu, the technique's user would need to seek out an external source of water to recuperate that which they lost).

Bloodline Limits:

As might seem obvious, the unwieldiness of Jinton as a nature transformation can be an incredibly limiting factor, as can be its potential for collateral damage.

While Jinton dismantles and disperses matter (and, as a result, chakra that directs it), energy directed by chakra can only be dispersed. As a result, techniques that make use of the following are, in a way, immune to Jinton: force, heat, and electric charge. Though any direction such a technique might have is dispersed upon contact with Jinton, its effects continue to spread outward from their point of contact.

Clan Techniques:

Name: Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique
Japanese: 塵遁・原界剥離の術 (Jinton: Genkai Hakuri no Jutsu)
Rank: S
Cost: 30
Range: 100 metres
Type: Ninjutsu
Sub-type: Offensive
Elemental Affinity: Jinton
Notation: Kekkei Tōta, Secret Technique, Kinjutsu
Parent Technique: N/A
Handsigns: Rat → Boar → Snake
Description: The user manipulates Jinton to create a structure, with a sphere located at its centre, between the palms of their hands. The structure expands rapidly in size as it is propelled towards its target (with the expansion of the sides of the structure not limited by any sort of wall or barrier). The sphere then appears to explode, resulting in the destruction of everything and anyone caught within the structure.
The resulting damage that this technique can produce varies considerably, depending on the final shape of the structure. For example, Jinton: Genkai Hakuri no Jutsu can manifest as a small cube, resulting in minimal collateral damage. At its extreme ranges, the technique has been rumoured to be capable of levelling entire islands. If two instances of Jinton: Genkai Hakuri no Jutsu collide, the pair merge into a single large spherical explosion; where everything caught within the substantial blast radius is completely pulverised.
For the purposes of interacting with effects that absorb ninjutsu (in instances where the absorption is not related to the cost of the technique, but its rank), the absorption of Jinton: Genkai Hakuri no Jutsu counts as having absorbed two S-Rank techniques.
Drawbacks: Jinton: Genkai Hakuri no Jutsu is very clearly telegraphed; due to the means by which (and the time over which) the technique must be charged between the user's hands, should the target of the technique have line-of-sight to the user, it is incredibly unlikely that the target will not understand that their atomic structure is under imminent threat. The process of the formation of the shape between the user's hands is also accompanied by a loud, high-pitched noise. The technique costs a large amount more than the standard amount for an S-Rank technique.
