It was but a moment's notice that Umi was off, she ordered some of her crew to stay behind to make sure the ship stayed afloat one would assume but opted Mui and Bantu out of that objective. Instead, these two little otters followed the man and his captain into the impending battle. The wooden ship caught wind that was apparently caused by the woman who Leon only noticed do a single-handed seal, now that was impressive. Waves crashed as if the sea deities looked upon the ship in disgust for it was truly reasonable that a boat the size of Michishio should not be moving with such haste while having the weight of the sea holding her down but it was obvious that Umi was a woman on a mission. When the wind took the ship Leon was atop his giant bird, the wind brought the bird with it as its wings were still stretched but when the wind ceased, the bird's wings took flight flying slightly above the crow's nest, he was only floating along but he was also scouting. An aura could be felt emitting from Leon's every pore of his body, he could hear the mocking of Umi toward the enemy captain standing tall on his side of the sea as suddenly a lava wave burst from Umi's mouth and just as quickly an opposing wall comprised of water arose defending the opposing crew from the onslaught from the woman.
Chakra, ninja pirates. Well, that's bothersome, we're in the water and they clearly use water jutsu.
Leon made mental notes of obvious things but still something to keep aware of during the bout of the pirates... and Leon. This is when he noticed that one of the unnamed pirate's crew noticed the man, or at least this is when Leon saw the physical embodiment of the man noticing him at his perch. He attempted to point toward Leon but this is when he knew his genjutsu had been set into the man's mind, this was apparent when he pointed in the opposite direction of the young man trying to expose his position. He was clearly in the trance that known to shinobi as Sly Mind Affect, the genjutsu was put in effect when Leon first got up in the air at an optimal position for the opposing crew to see him but this is a low-level genjutsu so it most likely won't last long if the crew was smart and so he took this moment and seized his opportunity of the crew being distracted. He jumped from the back of his bird landing atop the poll accompanying the crow's nest. The bird went flying and so soon after the initial attack from Umi he assumed the enemy pirates didn't have enough time to react or defend and he was partially correct. The captain threw one of his kunai he had equipped as soon as Umi opened her mouth as did the rest of his crew and dispersed the large bird of ink.
What else could be expected of such a low-level technique, he was just trying to measure the opposing force's reactionary elements further than Umi had already done. However, when the ink creation was exploded, Leon's hands wove a single hand seal and so the created piece of art exploded. The bird was close enough that the explosion caught the captain by the outermost points of it and whoever else was close enough to the side of the enemy ship. The blast wasn't anything too crazy but it was enough to make the water ripple, setting some space between the two ships only about three or four meters of extending space that was already there. The captain and some of his crew were on their backs due to the blast and as others helped their captain up, some decided to yell at the young man with such verbal harassments one might call HR to dispose of them. "You Asshole! You hit our captain! You'll pay for that!"
This did not put Leon off of his original demeanor, he was actually a little excited at how riled up the crew got from his attack and he showed it with a smile and a quick remark, "Yea? What's taking you so long then?"
He was simply accompanying Umi in her sarcastic quips against those that oppose them and so he looked down to her continuing his ear to ear shit-eating grin he mustered. He then looked upward at the crew as to not lose track of anything they might do in retaliation against him or his newfound crew.
