Thankfully, it was almost perfect timing for Jūbei to have arrived. 11 and Mizui both greeted him, seeming delighted that he had decided to join them after all. Jūbei held up his fist at Mizui, primed and ready for a fist-bump. Mizui in particular was elated, expressing his joy in seeing the flowery shinobi again. "It's good to see you too, Mizui. I had actually been hoping you'd be here today, there's a new technique I've been mulling over and it requires your participation! If you're interested, that is."
11 explained that they were just about to start covering village-exclusive techniques, and Jūbei's eyes lit up. Truly, these were the techniques he looked most forward to learning, and he immediately threw a fist up in excitement. "Excellent!" he exclaimed. "I suppose that will have to wait, then," Jūbei spoke again, looking to Mizui. "These are certainly most important."
After listening fully to 11's explanation of the technique, he attempted to try it himself, to no avail. For a moment, he paused, observing Mizui's similar flop. He was glad that he wasn't the only one having trouble. For the next few minutes or so, he simply worked on getting his chakra focused into his feet, which didn't take long due to his prior experience using the water-walking technique. Next was the hard part: getting it to silence his footsteps. This came much harder to the genin, having only minor success for the first few tries. Still, after about 10 minutes of trial-and-error, eventually his muffled footsteps grew quieter and quieter, before finally falling silent.
