Strength Traits

[Arm Day]
Type: Strength Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Strength
You chose to skip the one that you were told not to. You do not regret it.
Your specialities of attacking with your Strength comes from your upper body, strikes that come from your arms and head deal an extra 5 Damage.

[Leg Day]
Type: Strength Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Strength
You followed their advice. It was given to you for a reason.
Your specialities of attacking with your Strength comes from your lower body, strikes that come from your feet, knees, and so on deal an extra 5 Damage.

[Hardened]
Type: Strength Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Strength, Proficient Constitution
"There's no way that this will hurt when I hit it, right?"
When attacking something obviously harmful to the body, gain 5 Armor behind the strike or defensive block. While this can apply to striking against something that deals damage against you, it doesn't apply to intangible objects or techniques.

[Shinobi Fitness Training]
Type: Strength Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Strength
"One hundred push-ups…"
You have conditioned yourself in the normal training regimen, harsh as it may be. Whether it be a small fallen tree, or a moderately sized boulder, you are able to pick up and move this object. You cannot throw it.

[Crushing Blows]
Type: Strength Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Strength, [Anatomical Knowledge]
"Talk about wearing your heart on your sleeve."
Your ability to identify and attack organs from outside the body with your own strength has become your own speciality. When attacking the internal organs or other weak points of someone’s body, you gain 5 Damage against these weak points.

[Barrier Buster]
Type: Strength Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Strength
"Hey, watch this."
You have honed your strength to break through technique-based defenses. Your strikes deal double Damage to ninjutsu and fūinjutsu-based barriers.

[Reckless Blows]
Type: Strength Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Strength
You have essentially reduced tactics to a game of "no, you."
You attack with abandon and little regard to your own safety. You may increase the Damage of any melee physical attack by 5, but if that attack hits, decrease your own Durability by 5 each time. You must have enough Durability to expend to use this ability. You may not use this and [Defensive Fighting] at the same time.

[Elemental Infusion]
Type: Strength Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Strength, [Elemental Affinity]
It would have sounded cooler as "Thunder Punch", but that was copyrighted.
By infusing your element behind your melee physical attacks while using an elemental technique (such as Lightning Release Armor), you may increase the damage behind your attacks by 5. This only applies when you are paying for the upkeep of the style and not when using styles with no elemental affinity behind them. When buying this Trait include which element it is purchased for, as it can be bought multiple times for different elements.

[Extensive Fitness Training]
Type: Strength Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Strength, [Shinobi Fitness Training]
"One hundred sit-ups…"
By virtue of a rigorous training regimen, your feats of strength increase. You can throw objects that you can pick up with [Shinobi Fitness Training].

[Defensive Fighting]
Type: Strength Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Strength, [Toughness]
You have essentially reduced tactics to a game of "yes, me."
You have mastered the art of blocking and parrying. You may reduce the Damage you take from successful physical strikes against you by a number equal to half the base Damage dealt by your own strikes (rounding up). When Damage is prevented this way, your next strike that hits has its own Damage reduced by the same amount. If you block multiple strikes in a row, the penalty applies to that same amount of your next strikes. You may not use this and [Reckless Blows] at the same time.

[Shinobi Strongman]
Type: Strength Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Strength, [Extensive Fitness Training], [Toughness]
"And a ten-kilometer run, every single day."
You have surpassed the limits of many shinobi in terms of strength, performing impressive feats even by shinobi standards. You can punch through large boulders, smash huge tree trunks, or even punch through iron and steel.

[Compression]
Type: Strength Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Strength
Once, you felt air rush along your arms as you fought. Now, air feels you rush along it as you fight.
You have mastered the ability of turning melee blows into rushes of compressed air, allowing for you to inflict Damage to a foe at a distance of up to 5 meters. This Damage is inflicted at 10 Damage less than what the same melee strike would have done.

[Might]
Type: Strength Trait - A
Prerequisites: Heroic Strength
"I'm all Might."
You can invoke this Trait when launching a physical attack. If the attack connects with a surface or target, double the base Damage you deal (before applying modifiers from Traits, Techniques, or other modifiers). You can only use this once per topic, but the use is not expended if the attack fails to connect with a surface or target.

At natural Epic Strength, you can invoke Might twice per topic. At natural Legendary, you can invoke it three times.

[Shockwave]
Type: Strength Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Strength
You might as well be playing ping-pong with their bodies.
The concussive force of your physical attacks can be felt at a distance. When you solidly connect a physical attack with a target or solid surface, the attack creates an area of effect with a radius of 2 meters. This area of effect deals your standard physical Damage minus 5 and has a Knockback effect of 2 meters. If Shockwave occurs because you struck another character, they also suffer the Shockwave damage.

[Fury]
Type: Strength Trait - S
Prerequisites: Epic Strength, [Reckless Blows]
"That's my secret, Captain…"
You may increase the Damage of any physical attack by any amount, but your own Durability is decreased by half that amount each time, even if you miss. You must have enough Durability to expend to use this ability.

[Quake]
Type: Strength Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Strength, [Shockwave]
Just wait for the sequel.
You can invoke this Trait when you attempt to strike a solid surface, such as the ground, causing the force of your blow to ripple out and most likely cause an eruption of debris. The radius and knockback of your Shockwave doubles, and anything caught within the normal range of your Shockwave takes an additional 25 Damage from it, either suffering from the greater force or being caught in a rain of debris.

Constitution Traits

[Toughness]
Type: Constitution Trait - D

Your body is particularly sturdy, allowing for you to handle more punishment than the average shinobi.
You gain 15 Durability.

[You're Breathtaking]

Prerequisites: Proficient Constitution
"You're all breathtaking!"
Your lung capacity is at an extreme, allowing you to hold your breath for an indefinite amount of time. This most often applies against drowning and gaseous poisons.

[Poison Resistance]
Type: Constitution Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Constitution
"Never bet against a Sicilian when death is on the line."
Poisons take double the usual number of posts to affect you. In addition, their duration once they begin to act is halved.

[Anticipation]
Type: Constitution Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Constitution, Proficient Awareness
You're quaking with it.
Your awareness isn’t able to predict everything and get you out of the way, but you’re able to harden your body in order to take an attack. When deciding to tank an attack that is going to hurt you, you gain 5 Armor against that attack.

[Autoimmunity]
Type: Constitution Trait - B
Prerequisites: [Poison Resistance]
"I've developed an immunity to iocane powder."
After being subjected to a poison once, you cannot be affected by the same poison a second time.

[Fortitude]
Type: Constitution Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Constitution, [Toughness]
The extensive training that your body has been subjected your body has left you with the ability to overcome nearly anything.
You use your impressive resistance to tank the force of a blow, nullifying the result of any attack entirely, without affecting your Durability, or without causing you any harm if you have no remaining Durability.

[Grit]
Type: Constitution Trait - A
Prerequisites: Heroic Constitution, [Fortitude]
"I eat attacks like yours for breakfast." "You eat attacks for breakfast?"
You gain an additional use of [Fortitude].

[Natural Armor]
Type: Constitution Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Constitution, [Fortitude]
After a certain point, their attacks just started to glance off of you.
You gain 10 Armor.

[Naturally Resistant]
Type: Constitution Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Constitution
Naturally.
Your body’s resistances to all things that would slow it down are greater than most. You are able to resist the first tier of debuffs from any effect applied to you.

[Indomitable]
Type: Constitution Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Constitution, [Natural Armor]
"You’re approaching me?"
Once per topic, you may be reduced to 1 Durability by an attack that would otherwise reduce you below 1 Durability. In addition, you are so resistant that pain and Damage no longer interrupt actions you attempt, such as meditating for Sage Mode or [Breath of Fresh Air].

Stamina Traits

[Breath of Fresh Air]
Type: Stamina Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Stamina
Smells like summer. And a lot of sweat.
Once per topic, you can spend one post taking a breather to regain some amount of spent energy and strength. This post must be spent in relative rest, without engaging in combat, spending chakra, sustaining techniques or transformations, or otherwise engaging in strenuous activity or concentrating on any abilities. After successfully completing this period of rest, you recover a quarter of your missing Stamina and a quarter of your missing Durability. You do not gain these benefits if you are interrupted.

[Burn the Clock]
Type: Stamina Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Stamina, [Toughness]
"Just do it!"
Once per topic, you can make a sacrifice of your own Durability in order to regain Stamina. The amount sacrificed and burned away for the Stamina is equivalent, with a maximum of 25. This cannot be used if you have less than 5 Durability left.

[Quick Recovery]
Type: Stamina Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Stamina
"Just gimme a minute."
When you move between linked topics when you would not normally recover Stamina Points, such as when you flee a topic or you pursue someone that has fled a topic that you are in, you recover a quarter of your missing Stamina and a quarter of your missing Durability.

[Rush of Energy]
Type: Stamina Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Stamina
You can feel the power coursing through your veins.
Once per topic you can regain 10 Stamina Points at the start of a post.

[Sharp Breath]
Type: Stamina Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Stamina, [Breath of Fresh Air]
"No, really, just hold on for a second."
You can attempt to take a breather while in direct combat. The process still takes one post, but you can do so while defending yourself. You still cannot spend chakra during this period or activate or sustain other strenuous activities or transformations. You can only gain this benefit if you do not suffer damage for the round, and can still only take a breather once per topic.

[Second Wind]
Type: Stamina Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Stamina, [Toughness]
Even after being worn so far down, you feel like you can keep going.
Once per topic, when you reach half of your total Stamina Pool or less, regain a tenth of your total Stamina Points.

[Keep the Tempo]
Type: Stamina Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Stamina, [Sharp Breath]
"If you'd just let me…"
You can take a breather while in direct combat, in an instant. While you can do so while defending yourself, you still cannot spend chakra while taking a breath, activate or sustain any other strenuous activities, or maintain transformations. You can still only take a breather once per topic.

[Extra Reserves]
Type: Stamina Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Stamina
You sometimes feel as though you can draw from an endless ocean of energy.
Once per topic you can regain 25 Stamina Points at the start of a post.

[Recuperation]
Type: Stamina Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Stamina, [Toughness]

At the end of each post, you may expend 5 Stamina Points. If you do, you may regain 5 lost Durability. This cannot be used to exceed your natural Durability total.

[Adrenaline Surge]
Type: Stamina Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Stamina, Masterful Constitution, [Keep the Tempo]
"Fine, if you're going to be that way, we can do it like this."
Once per topic, you can gain the benefits of taking a breather while in direct combat immediately after taking at least 30 Damage, in an instant. This does not count towards the one breather you may take per topic.

[Font]
Type: Stamina Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Stamina
"Unlimited power!"
You regain 5 Stamina Points at the start of every post.

[Overwhelming Reserves]
Type: Stamina Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Stamina, [Extra Reserves]

You gain 50 Stamina Points to your total Stamina Pool. While above half of your total Stamina Pool, you can choose to exert a pressure with the sheer amount of chakra that you can produce, reducing the Reflex of all those around you by a tier.

[Evasive]

In close calls, you have the edge.
You gain 1 advantage to Reflex when dodging enemy attacks.

[Cat's Grace]

When in free-fall, you are always capable of reorienting yourself such that you can land on your feet.

[Roll With It]
Type: Reflex Trait - D

Takes the edge off.
Accepting that you are going to be hit by a forceful attack, you can roll with the attack to mitigate the force and damage, granting yourself 5 Armor when rolling with the attack.

[Sidestep]
Type: Reflex Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Reflex
"Slide to the left."
Once per topic, you may immediately move 1 meter to either side, allowing for you to sidestep certain techniques or attacks attempted by an enemy.

[Aerobatics]
Type: Reflex - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Reflex, [Cat’s Grace]
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that you should be able to maneuver mid-air, unaided, and without any compelling reason to do so. It must have something to do with chakra.
You are capable of manipulating yourself such that your ability to dodge persists while mid-air.

[Duck and Weave]
Type: Reflex Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Reflex, [Sidestep]
"Cha-cha real smooth."
You may use your [Sidestep] to instead move forward rather than to the side, allowing it to be used to close distances; effective dodging still hinges on the type of attack attempted.

[Nimble]
Type: Reflex Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Reflex
You instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.
If you would take any amount of Damage from a technique with the Partial Damage Benefit, take half that Damage instead.

[Pivot]
Type: Reflex Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Reflex, [Sidestep]
"Criss-cross!"
You gain an additional use of [Sidestep] each topic.

[Blitz]
Type: Reflex Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Reflex
You rush enemies with astounding speed, often catching them off-guard as you appear within striking range.
Once per topic, choose a target within 10 meters to dash to. You can immediately close the gap between you and your target. This counts as a single action in time, similar to a High-Speed Projectile, and can be reacted to as such.

[Blur]
Type: Reflex Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Reflex
"Blr."
When dashing from place to place, it can be difficult to determine the exact location of your body, as a blur traces your movement from one spot to the next. Moving in a line directly towards a given target makes any otherwise-blurred movement clear to the target.

[Lunge]

Prerequisites: Heroic Reflex, [Sidestep]
"One hop this time."
Increase the range of your [Sidestep] from 1m to 5m.

[Behind You]
Type: Reflex Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Reflex, [Blitz]
Don't turn around.
Choose a target within 20 meters to dash to. You can immediately close the gap between you and your target, and may end your movement either in front of or behind your target. This counts as a single action in time, similar to a High-Speed Projectile, and can be reacted to as such. You may still only dash to a target once per topic.

[Shadow Step]
Type: Reflex Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Reflex, [Blur]
"You're too slow!"
When dashing from place to place, it can appear as though your body is almost teleporting, particularly when moving perpendicular to a given viewer's line-of-sight. You can invoke this Trait to dash out of the field of view of everyone who has sight of you, causing them to lose you momentarily. Moving in any way towards a given target, or even directly away from them, will allow them to catch your movement however. You cannot physically attack or perform techniques during this movement. At Legendary Reflex, this movement can no longer be tracked by the Sharingan.

[Speed Demon]
Type: Reflex Trait - S
Prerequisites: Epic Reflex, [Behind You]
"C'mon, step it up!"
Choose a target within 30 meters to dash to. You can immediately close the gap between you and your target, and may end your movement either in front of or behind your target. This counts as a single action in time, similar to a High-Speed Projectile, and can be reacted to as such. You may now dash to a target three times per topic.

[Afterimage]
Type: Reflex Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Reflex, [Shadow Step]
"You're a hundred years too soon to be facing me. And him. And him. And him."
When dashing from place to place, it can appear as though you are in multiple places at once as your body leaves afterimages in your place after you have moved, particularly when moving perpendicular to a given viewer's line-of-sight. You can invoke this Trait to dash out of the field of view of everyone who has sight of you, causing them to lose you momentarily. While moving directly towards a target will allow them to discern your real body from the afterimages, moving directly away from them will not. You cannot perform techniques during this movement.

Awareness Traits

[Eagle Eye]
Type: Awareness Trait - D

"I've got you in my sights."
You can see clearly at all distances in a topic, so long as your vision is unobstructed.

[Nocturnal]

Prerequisites: Proficient Awareness
Night vision!
You have little trouble seeing in the dark, so long as there is some amount of light available, be it starlight, moonlight, or firelight.

[Magnetoreception]
Type: Awareness Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Awareness

You can determine your direction, altitude, and location relative to the things around you. This is particularly useful when submerged below the earth or in water, where other senses may be hindered or muffled.

[Armor-Piercing Gaze]
Type: Awareness Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Awareness, either [Armorsmith], [Assassination], or [Eagle Eye]
Their weak points are obvious and many in number.
You can identify the gaps and weak points in armor at a glance. Your strikes may ignore 5 Armor granted by worn items.

[Echolocation]
Type: Awareness Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Awareness
One would assume that seeing the world through a bat's ears is a strange and uncomfortable experience. One would be right.
You can detect the general direction of moderate sounds at all ranges in a topic. You can pinpoint the location of a target within 25 meters using sound alone, so long as there is some sound to detect, such as movement or heavy breathing. If a target makes no noise of their own, you can generate sound of your own, including by calling out to them or throwing a stone in their vicinity, in an attempt to locate them, reacting to the soundwaves you created. You are also aware of your general location in respect to your surroundings while there is sound to be heard. Additionally, you can use this Trait to eavesdrop on conversation within this distance.

[Scent Hound]
Type: Awareness Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Awareness
Dog Fact: It is thought that dogs have a great sense of smell. They do not.
You can detect the presence and general direction of people, creatures, and objects with a distinct odor within 50 meters. You can pinpoint their location so long as they give off a particularly noteworthy scent. You can track where a target has been by following a trail left behind by their scent, assuming you recognize the scent.

[Tremorsense]
Type: Awareness Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Awareness
Wrong "anime", twinkletoes.
You can determine the presence and general direction of targets moving along the ground at all ranges within a topic, so long as you are also touching the ground. You can pinpoint the location of a target using this method within 25 meters.

[Examine Ability]
Type: Awareness Trait - B
Prerequisites: Masterful Awareness
"What does the scouter say about his power level?"
You can study a given target, attempting to gain insight into their capabilities. If you can watch the target closely and uninterrupted for 1 post, you are able to determine which of their Attributes is their highest and which is their lowest, even without them giving any special indication. If either of these is a Skill, you know only which category it belongs to (Combat, Ranged, or Finesse), but you can still make further deductions from other available information (such as if they are carrying a sword). In the case of a tie, you learn both.

If you have natural Heroic Awareness, you can also determine which Basic and Advanced Elements the target has the ability to use, as well as which Skills the target is trained in.

If you have natural Epic Awareness, you can use this ability at a glance.

If you have natural Legendary Awareness, you can determine the exact tier of each of your target’s Statistics, as well as which Traits they have.

[Precognition]
Type: Awareness Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Awareness
"I've got a bad feeling about this."
Once per topic, you can invoke this Trait, citing your ability to have foreseen or otherwise predicted an action, allowing you to perform feats like reacting to an attack you otherwise might not be able to. Your Awareness must be at least Heroic at the time you invoke this Trait.

[Village Sentinel]
Type: Awareness Trait - A
Prerequisites: Heroic Awareness, [Eagle Eye]
You can see perfectly… until the horizon.
While you have a high vantage point in your home village, such as outer walls or a watchtower, you can see clearly into other topics at all distances within the village walls and the area just outside of it. At Epic Awareness, you are able to see clearly throughout topics within your home country from a high vantage point. Establishing this vantage point requires at least a post of setup.

[Foresight]
Type: Awareness Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Awareness, [Precognition]
"Your next words are…"
You gain an additional use of the [Precognition] Trait.

[Spyhawk]
Type: Awareness Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Awareness, [Village Sentinel]
"What horizon?"
Your vision can extend beyond the miles of your country, allowing you to spy on topics within adjacent countries with your eyes alone.

[Omniprescience]
Type: Awareness Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Awareness
No, not "omnipresence", "omniprescience". It's a word. Look it up.
You have developed an innate connection with all that is around you, allowing you to sense the larger goings-on in the world. In addition, you may be able to prophesy events to come. You can talk to staff about using this ability to receive clues about upcoming conflicts and plots, though you must specify what you are trying to gather more information on.

Chakra Traits

[Elemental Affinity]
Type: Chakra Trait - D
Prerequisites: N/A
"Earth, water, fire, air—"
Choose one Basic Element: Katon (Fire), Suiton (Water), Doton (Earth), Fūton (Wind), or Raiton (Lightning). You gain that Basic Element and can train techniques and create customs of the chosen Basic Element.

You can take this Trait multiple times, each time selecting a different Basic Element. Each time you take this Trait, it is a rank higher and must be purchased at the new rank's cost (e.g. the second purchase of this Trait is a C-Rank).

[Chakra Control]
Type: Chakra Trait - D
Prerequisites: N/A
You really would have assumed that they'd have taught you this in the Academy.
You can use the following techniques at half their usual cost: Body Flicker Technique, Transformation Technique, Clone Technique, Cloak of Invisibility Technique, Rope Escape Technique, and Body Replacement Technique.

[Elemental Expertise]
Type: Chakra Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Hand Seals, [Chakra Control], [Elemental Affinity]
You're just sad you couldn’t pick the same element twice.

An S-Rank would take 7 weeks, unmodified, of "passive analysis" (your character does not need to be constantly focused on the seal), an A-Rank would take 6 weeks, and so on. For each Fūinjutsu Trait you have, this is reduced by 1 week. If reduced to 0, you can determine the seal's basic functions at a glance, and fully decipher it after 1 post of analysis. If it would be reduced below 0, you can fully decipher the seal at a glance. Once the seal has been fully deciphered, you can make a custom seal specifically designed for the purpose of unsealing or tampering with the deciphered seal.

[Chakrakinesis]
Type: Ninjutsu Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Ninjutsu
Fluidity in any form.
Your Linear Projectile ninjutsu are treated as Manipulated Projectiles.

[Elemental Mastery]
Type: Ninjutsu Trait - S
Prerequisites: [Elemental Expertise], [Advanced Chakra Control], Masterful Ninjutsu
You have fully mastered your elemental affinity.
You gain the following benefits for the Basic Elements for which you meet the prerequisites.
  • Fire: Your Fire Release glows white-hot, becoming both harder to extinguish and devastatingly deadly. Your damaging Fire Release attacks deal 10 additional Damage and now clash equally with Water Release techniques.
  • Water: Your Water Release is at maximum efficiency in any environment. You can treat all of your Water Release techniques as if you had cast them with a Medium, and can cast Water Release techniques that normally require a Medium without one. If you do have access to a Medium for techniques that can normally use one, you can increase your choice of the Range, Area of Effect, or effective Strength of a Knockback or Push effect by one step.
  • Earth: Your Earth Release connection is unbreakable. You can ignore any clap hand seals normally required to cast Earth Release techniques, as well as all Casting Delays involving slamming or otherwise hitting the ground. In addition, you do not need to be in contact with the ground to cast any Earth Release techniques. The cast range for your Earth Release techniques doubles (this does not increase the range of projectiles or the like, merely how far away you can conjure an effect from the ground).
  • Lightning: Your Lightning Release adapts to any conductor. Your Lightning Release techniques ignore Armor. You can intentionally channel your Lightning Release techniques through water and other conductors (other than the ground), altering their Range to double their usual Range (with a minimum of 30 meters).
  • Wind: Your Wind Release snuffs out your enemies' flames of hope. You can choose not to have your Wind Release ignited by Fire Release techniques of the same rank, and they now clash equally with Fire Release. Your Wind Release techniques all gain Knockback Proficient (2 meters). If a technique already has Knockback, increase its Strength threshold by 1 tier and increase the Knockback by 2 meters.

Shurikenjutsu Traits

[Sleight of Hand]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Shurikenjutsu
Out of nowhere.
You can conceal the presence of a small weapon or object in your hand, perhaps hinting to but not directly stating it in your post. You can also stow, hide, or retrieve a small object on your person without notice. Another character who has sight of you can see through this Trait if they have an Awareness of at least 1 tier higher than the highest of your Shurikenjutsu Skill (they are effectively incapable of being surprised by the weapon).

[Single Out]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - C
Prerequisites: Proficient Shurikenjutsu
"You're next."
You can mark any target on the battlefield that you can see. While standing still, you gain a 3 advantages to your Shurikenjutsu Skill for the purposes of aiming and firing at your marked target with relevant ranged attacks. You can only have one marked target at a time and cannot designate a new target until you have hit your marked target with at least one projectile attack, or until you drop your mark for at least one post.

[Snapshot]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - C
Prerequisites: Masterful Shurikenjutsu, [Single Out]
Showoff.
You can apply the benefits of [Single Out] and [Long Odds] against a marked target without having to stand still.

[Simple Geometry]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Awareness, Heroic Shurikenjutsu
Your skill with thrown weapons makes it almost impossible to use them successfully against you.
You can predict the trajectory of any thrown projectile or object you can see or otherwise detect, barring any unexpected interference or influence.

[Ricochet]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - B
Prerequisites: Epic Shurikenjutsu
Enclosed spaces and arenas populated by obstacles are your ultimate battlefield.
You can effortlessly bounce projectiles off of surfaces (or even other weapons) with unerring precision, allowing you to attack targets outside of your direct line of sight or behind cover, assuming you know their position.

[Long Odds]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - B
Prerequisites: Masterful Shurikenjutsu, [Single Out]
"Never tell me the odds."
Taking the time to throw at the right moment, you can effectively ignore incomplete cover when throwing at your marked target, leaving your target safe only behind complete cover. In addition, your effective range with thrown weapons is doubled.

[Polydexterity]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - A
Prerequisites: [Ambidexterity], Heroic Shurikenjutsu
Your dexterity and skill with your weapons transcends manual use, allowing you to fight with them in unorthodox and impressive ways, extemporaneously using your limbs, torso, and feet.
You are capable of utilizing weapons in unique fashion without your hands. You can trace and balance weapons along your body and, with precise timing and aim, launch them accurately from limb rather than from hand. You can also hold and throw small weapons with your feet.

[Flechette Storm]
Type: Shurikenjutsu Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Shurikenjutsu
An impossible tempest of iron leaves your hands whenever you throw weapons at a target.
For each weapon you throw with the Small property, you throw two additional free projectiles of the same type. For each weapon you throw with the Tiny property, you throw four additional free projectiles of the same type. These weapons simply appear when thrown and do not come from your inventory, and they do not have to have rationally fit in hand when throwing the initial projectiles.

Kugutsu Traits

[Puppeteer]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - D
Prerequisites: Proficient Kugutsu
Developed as entertainment, this deadly fighting style has remained an art form.
You gain 100 Materials with which to construct a puppet using the Puppetry Rules and Item List. This counts as a type of crafting. Upon entering a friendly village, the puppet constructed with this budget is repaired at no cost.

[Marionette]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - C
Prerequisites: Proficient Kugutsu
"My finest creation!"
When you take this Trait, choose a puppet you own. That puppet gains two additional component slots (designated as Marionette Slots). These Marionette Slots can only be used while controlling a single puppet at once.

[Skilled Manipulator]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - C
Prerequisites: Proficient Kugutsu
A pianist would be jealous.
You no longer need to pay the activation or upkeep cost of the Chakra Threads technique.

[Advanced Puppeteer]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - B
Prerequisites: Masterful Kugutsu, [Puppeteer]
"A fine addition to my collection..."
You gain an additional 100 Materials for puppet construction using the Puppetry Rules and Item List. This counts as a type of crafting. You can use this budget to add to the puppet from the [Puppeteer] Trait, or you may use it to construct a second puppet. Upon entering a friendly village, the puppet constructed with this budget is repaired at no cost.

[Friends In High Places]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Kugutsu
An army to fight for you. An army to watch over you.
While controlling five or more puppets, you gain 10 Armor.

[Manipulated Force]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - B
Prerequisites: Heroic Kugutsu
Everything could use better weapons.
Your puppets deal an additional 5 Damage with their components.

[Reinforced Designs]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - B
Prerequisites: Masterful Kugutsu
"They shouldn’t break this time."
Puppets you control gain 10 Armor.

[Accelerated Force]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Kugutsu, [Manipulated Force]
Everything could use even more, even better, weapons.
Your puppets deal an additional 10 Damage with their components.

[Hanging By a Thread]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - A
Prerequisites: Epic Kugutsu
As long as you have something left, you are not defeated.
When manipulating only a single puppet or an item with the Chakra Threads technique that is not a puppet, you gain 20 Armor.

[Conductor]
Type: Kugutsu Trait - S
Prerequisites: Legendary Kugutsu
Your puppets dance to an unheard melody, each component flawlessly integrated in perfect harmony.
You can manage to control more components on puppets than usual, letting each puppet you control have up to six components at base.
