The first to arrive was the cocky student, well, of course, it would be him, he out of anyone wouldn't wanna stand out as a liability to the team. Ran didn't expect anything different from Enkou. She already wondered with what kind of questions he'd bombard her with today. A curious lad, sometimes too curious, but he was young and a fresh genin, she couldn't blame him. When the time would finally come for him though, she wondered - would he die, or would he prevail and become just like her?
A mass murderer.
He still had a lot to learn, would he be able to move on after his first kill? The genin at war right now wouldn't have much of a choice if they were forced into such a predicament. Before Ran could even answer the pup's question Mei's figure appeared from the distance. "Well, I didn't really set up a time...I guess."
she thought to herself as the young Aburame joined the pair. The girl immediately admitted why she was late, as expected - she was less prideful. Even if she were late, she naturally didn't wanna seem like a perfectionist or anything. The book she held though seemed interesting, at least interesting enough for the ANBU's eyes to widen, "Medical mysteries huh? Sounds interesting, you should lend it to me sometime!" she said with an optimistic tone, winking at the girl to illustrate that she really did not mind of the newcomer's 'lateness'.
"Anyway, in total, you'll be with four team members. For today, just you two."
answering Enkou's question as well as briefing Mei in of what the situation was. "Well, I guess you can count him too."
her lips suddenly led out the sound of a whistle, summoning her one and only trustworthy companion. Behind the children, the real pup appeared, Ichimaru. The dog as per usual not making any sound as he lazily sat back, tail wiggling ever so slightly as he merely stared both genins down. Ran grinned as the younglings would no doubt notice his presence. "He eats anything by the way, in case you decide to feed him."
She clapped her hands together whilst bending forwards ever so slightly "Now then!" she began with eyes closed whilst smiling. "First, I wanna teach you both something cool, then, I wanna observe you guys fight someone of your own size. That means, of course...each other. And then maybe, if you do well, we can have a lunch break where you can ask me anything, and then...to end the day, I guess I'd like to see how you guys cooperate with each other as you try to beat me in a two versus one."
Ichimaru blurred into the trees, laying down with his head on his paws. He'd sleep, soon enough. Ran instead blurred towards a boulder that had implanted itself on the waters of the river. Bending between her legs and supporting herself the balls of her feet. "So. Both of you may have noticed that when you fought against me, I aimed to grab your wrists or block your punches, then throw you into an obstacle, probably the floor or..."
she eyed Enkou with a grin. "Into the water."
"This is actually a taijutsu fighting style called Aikido, and today, I'm going to teach you how to do it."
