The hour that he had spent walking around the Citizen Structure was ill-spent. In truth, it only should have taken him a handful of minutes to acquire the two files that he sought, and fewer still to peruse them. It took him much more than that, however, and maybe he should have expected that ahead of time, though he had found his head in the clouds with other things he was thinking about. He didn't know his way around the building that well, it took him a while to figure out where he was going, and the people who worked in the building were not yet familiar with him, resulting in a slow and difficult situation. Eventually, however, the Hollow One did acquire the papers that he was looking for, and he did read up on the two genin that he had pledged to train (though he did struggle to find their papers at first - he didn't know their last names, not that they did not say them, but moreso because he did not remember; he hadn't been paying that much attention at that moment in time).

The end result was that he showed up over a half-hour late to his own meeting, which he himself had scheduled. Masamune felt a little bad about it, in truth, though not so much as to draw attention to himself by running through the office to get back down to the empty space infront of the building where he had told the two genin to gather. His approach, when he did spot them, was slow and meandering, seeing even fewer reasons now to rush, once he had actually confirmed their presences. He raised a hand towards them in a silent greeting, opting not to use any words, as was perhaps his usual style. He already had much in his mind as he examined each of the two of them now with more discerning eyes; the female, an archer and ranged combatant, and the male, not a shinobi at all, but a buddhist.

Two things Masamune was not. He had a sinking feeling in his stomach now. Was he even equipped to train these two kids at all? He had thought about doing some simple exercises, but could monks even use chakra? Masamune had to admit, he didn't know much about them.

Aoi has rushed through her routine: throwing away the groceries as quick as she could, eating her food with reckless abandon so much so that she gagged, and putting her kit together as quickly as she could. She lost four minutes running out the door with her shirt on backwards and having to fix that. Still Aoi managed to arrive ten minutes early to the meeting spot.

Her potential sensei, who Aoi was just realizing that she didn’t know his name or have an official assignment for him to be her sensei, which might be a problem in the long run, had not been clear in what sort of training they would be doing. So Aoi had brought her full kit ready for combat or survival. Her quiver and bow were heavy on her back. All there was to now was wait.

Loitering in front of the Kemurikage’s Office was a bit awkward. She stood out standing in the nicer part of town, looking poorer and not as official ninja as she wanted to. Aoi made her face resolute almost daring anyone to imply she didn’t belong, squared her stance, and waited.

And she waited, for the fifteen minutes till their designated time and then later. Long enough for Aoi to wonder if this was some sort of hazing older shinobi pulled on younger.

It had been a strange day for Shiko Hamada. That was for certain. The teenage Monk was found lounging around Crescendo Park for a little bit after Aoi and Masamune left to attend to their attends. He hadn't anything to do, so the hour (and plus) that the three spent apart was possibly the most dreadful for him. After all... He had NOTHING to do. Time slowed and crawled at an ant's pace. What was he to do with himself? The young Monk wasn't sure, and so he spent the first half hour after eating his food deciding what to do with himself.

"I guess a little pre-training couldn't hurt?" the young Monk decided to himself. Getting up off the bench, the young Monk began to jog casually around the park to do laps. People passed by him as he carefully maneuvered across the rather spacious outdoor setting, pieces of sweat bouncing off of him as he kept pace. How many laps were suitable for a pre-training workout? A hundred seemed about right, and so that was the personal goal he set for himself before his new teammates showed up.
Shiko was panting, echos of wheezing echoing through the park as he finished his last lap. Perhaps he shouldn't have taken that break from training this week. He could already feel himself getting weaker. The young Monk sighed, inhaling deeply as he tried to rejuvenate his lungs and re-energize his muscles. He didn't wanna look pathetic before they met up.

The young Monk took himself and rushed toward the meeting spot, not knowing what he would find...

Apparently they weren't here yet. Either of them. Perhaps he had arrived early? He wasn't exactly sure of the time, and that left the teen to surmise maybe he should continue his warm-up exercises... He didn't wanna slack too much after all.

"Guess I should do five-hundred push-ups until he gets here..." Shiko sighed to himself, as he dropped down to the floor on his knees and began to get into position. Pressing his weight down and then pushing back up, Shiko began the vigorous task of completing his self-appointed workout.

He needed to be in top-shape if he was to prove worthy of whatever training this guy could offer him...
"Hey, Aoi," the Young Monk greeted her as he continued his training, sweat oozing out of him as he continued to push himself.

"Three-Hundred and Twenty-Five...," he called out to himself as he continued to go down and push himself back up. It was starting to be a bit difficult now. The first hundred were fairly easy and just tedious... The second hundred was a little less easy, and then the third hundred was where the difficulty began. Now he was only almost halfway through the fourth hundred and he was starting to feel a slight burn.

But he wasn't going to give up. He had too much to prove. To himself, to this team, to everyone.

In their own ways, both of the genin seemed prepared for training. Aoi was dressed the part, even though it wasn't something that Masamune had instructed them to do (impressive, in its own right, as a result), and Shiko was in the midst of pushups. That almost made Masamune proud in a way, and if they were his official students he might have been. However, for an impromptu instructor for this lesson, it did please him enough to see that both of them at least intended to take this seriously. They didn't even seem that mad at him showing up late, which was a relief, to be sure.

Standing infront of the two of them for several long moments, Masamune was completely silent. His mask hid the worry that clouded his face as he realized that, having been so busy the whole time, he had failed to actually come up with a lesson plan of what he would actually want the two of them to do. His eyes, unblinking, were cold and unfeeling, even as the panic set in in his heart. "What are your names?" He asked, suddenly defaulting to the most basic - but first to come to mind - question that he felt like might have been asked at the first meeting of a teacher and their students, regardless of the fact that he did, in fact, already know their names.

“Ano…” Aoi stared down at Shiko. He was doing pushups on the ground, “Good afternoon, senpai.” It would have been hard work to keep a straight face at the sight of a teen doing pushups on the sidewalk outside the Kemurikage’s office if Aoi didn’t default to a neutral face when confronted with strange things. So instead of casting furtive looks of confusion, Aoi stared down at her senpai as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

Of course, Aoi was still confused. Why was Shiko doing so many pushups before training? Wouldn’t he tire himself out? Didn’t they need to make a good first impression on their new sensei? Wasn’t he embarrassed by how weird they looked? They did catch the eyes of a few curious passersby. Aoi avoided eye contact.

Just as Aoi was about to ask Shiko if they had maybe heard wrong or misunderstood, their sensei arrived. Aoi opened her mouth to greet him after a few awkward moments passed only to once again be talked over by her sensei.

Eh?! He doesn’t remember our names?!

“Jiyon Aoi,” Aoi introduced bowing her head politely. She supposed there was no reason to be rude about it.

"Pay them no attention, Aoi. Most of them haven't trained this hard a day in their lives...," Shiko muttered under his breath as people gave them funny looks passing by them. He didn't care however. He just kept doing what he did best, pushing himself beyond his breaking point. He couldn't help but give a small chuckle as he kept pressing down and pushing up.

"The funny part is... This isn't even that hard compared to my usual workout... This IS a warm-up to me...," he said.

He was used to doing things much crazier. A Thousand Push Ups. Five Hundred Laps. Two Thousand Kicks. That was his usual routine. He would wake up with his whole body feeling insanely sore. Sometimes he even went far enough to pass out, which pissed off the medics in Kemurigakure Hospital sometimes.

After that little comment from the Monk, their sensei arrived (finally). Shiko sighed. "Four Hundred and Thirty... Darn," he cursed to himself as he got up from the floor, his body a little sweaty from the mini work-out. Even though he was a little winded, one could discern from the gleam in his eye that he was ready to go the distance.

"Was hoping to manage five hundred push-ups before you got here. Guess I gotta work harder on improving my push-up speed," he surmised.

Shiko took the moment to breathe in a bit as their new self-proclaimed sensei was beginning the formalities. Asking them their names despite knowing them was a bit weird.

"Shiko Hamada. You really should work on your tardiness, sensei. It’s unbecoming for a leader…," he said, though his tone suggested he wasn’t particularly upset or annoyed at the situation. Just merely pointing something out for the man’s sake rather than out of some emotional annoyance. The sweaty Monk glistened with a strange aura about him. When most people worked up a sweat they looked messy, gross, and smelled.

Shiko however simply glowed, and gained no odor from his workout. It was truly strange.

Masamune tilted his head in thought, feeling at least a little better about the fact that they both complied and gave their names. It made him feel like he didn't stand out - or disappoint - too much. Shiko chastised him, however, and Masamune's brow furrowed. "I'm not a leader," he gruffly replied. And that, he figured, was true. He was an assassin, a shinobi, a rebel, until recently, but never had he actually been a leader. "I'm just here to teach you for the day. That's all," he sternly reiterated to the oddly put-together teenager. It was, perhaps, a bit harsh, but it touched on something of a sore-spot for the former assassin. He also, in a strange way, didn't want the two genin to have too high of expectations going into all of this. He was going to do the best that he could, but he didn't think that that would be anything particularly impressive, at any rate. "What do the two of you expect out of this?" He asked. At least by knowing their expectations, he could try and figure out the best way to try and teach them something useful.

Aoi was 13, newly 13 but 13. Yet boys had never caught her eye before. Maybe it was because her interaction with boys had been so limited. Her classmates were abysmal and she had developed a distaste for all of them before she hit her hormonal years. Other than that every male she interacted with had been way outside her age. So while yes Aoi had thought this teacher or that teacher was attractive it had never been more than that.

Then Shiko, the D-rank king, who Aoi had already been struggling to see as her senpai do his behavior stood up. Aoi was floored. His hair was windswept, not greasy at all from his work out. His eyes were glinting in a way that struck her since he had always been nervous around her, but now they were firm and determined like glittering gold. Aoi was floored; he was glistening.

Her face was dead. Even as heat rose up in her, curling in her stomach. What is this feeling? Her heart beat wildly in her chest. She felt like she was melting and flying.

Then she was angry. Her foot snapped out as Shiko stood up, hitting his ankle with the force and the timing to knock it out from underneath him and send him falling on his stupid perfect face.

As soon as her foot met flesh, her anger melted as did the strange bubbly sensation that had been making a mockery of her stomach. Why did I do that?! Internally Aoi screamed even as her face was perfectly set in neutrality.

Shiko raised an eyebrow at the reaction the man gave them. It seemed as if he had touched a sore subject. Leader was a taboo word. The young Monk wondered what it was about it that seemed to piss him off. Correcting was one thing, but this reaction was a little.. Off-kilter. He continued that he wasn’t going to teach them on a long-term basis. It was more of a pity session than anything else, which is NOT how this was originally pitched to them. He was a little disappointed, but one session was better than none. He’d take advantage of the opportunity.

“Alrig- OOMPH!”

He began to reply, before he felt a sharp kick at his ankle making him lose his balance and fall down. Normally a kick of that level wouldn’t be enough to bring him down, but Aoi passed her strength check (and he wasn’t fully balanced yet).

Falling flat on his face- making everyone around them sharply look at the trio. It was.. Surely something one would likely find embarrassing. Thankfully Shiko had learned to have no dignity after everything he had already experienced in life as the D-Rank King. He was used to making a fool of himself.

“Aoi… What was that for?” he whined, not quite sure what prompted that.

He forced himself up (with no help from Aoi) and got back on his feet. He quietly dusted himself off, to rid himself of any dirt from his admittedly sweaty robes. Despite her rude gesture, he was still glistening with a strange alluring aura bestowed by his own sweat and looks. He was clearly a little peeved, not even giving her a look now. His gaze was focused back on their one-day rent-a-sensei. It was better to just let it go and be passive now.

“I’ll take what I can get, sir. Perhaps if I perform well with you today, you can let the other higher-ups know how much I’ve improved.

I also wouldn’t mind knowing your name, considering you’ve yet to give it,”
he said.

"Wha..." A soft gasp of surprise left Masamune as he watched one of his prospective students promptly kick the other over, leaving the poor lad face-first in the dirt. Masamune blinked a few times in confusion, utterly stunned for a moment. Did the two of them not get along well? They had seemed amicable enough - no, actually, when he met them they both seemed fairly awkward in their own ways. Even now, Aoi seemed as stoic as a killer, though with his own unchanging, masked face, he couldn't fault her too much for that.

Still, if he wasn't sure how to proceed before, he definitely wasn't sure how he should proceed now. A part of him felt like he just wanted to leave, but he knew that definitely wasn't possible. Especially that, even after the kick, Shiko seemed determined to learn. In the face of his request, all Masamune could do was give a slight nod; he didn't have the heart to tell the boy that he was not sure how much his word was worth to the village higher-ups.

Eventually, the beginnings of an idea began to come to him. "If the two of you have so much energy, you can start with a lap around the village," he instructed, motioning with his head for the two of them to start running. His eyes turned to look at Aoi again, as he voiced his concern aloud. "Unless you plan to kick him again? Please do not. We don't have that much time in the day." There was no judgement in his voice, just curiosity, followed by sincere request.

“There was a spider!” Aoi’s lie burst out, unplanned. As frantic as it felt to her, her voice was level if a little raised in volume.

Aoi took off at a sprint, running her feelings out.

W-what the fuck! Now they’re going to think I have a spider phobia. Ninjas aren’t supposed to be scared of anything. I fucking blew it. BLEW IT! He doesn’t want to be our sensei because I fucked up. He’s going to tell sensei and I won’t get a real team! I’LL BE THE D-RANK QUEEN WITH THE D-RANK KING! NOOOOOO

Her breath hitched.

Calm yourself d o w n RIGHT NOW.

Her palms hit her cheeks and the pain of it brought her spinning out of her thoughts. Aoi slowed herself down to a pace she could manage for a whole lap around the village.

You are not special. People have done more embarrassing things, they have to have. Everything will be fine. And he was kind of weird before you did anything dumb, both of them, it’s fine.

Aoi had no idea where she was as she pulled herself out of her thoughts, or where anybody else was. A quick check of her surroundings helped her identify that yes, she was on track running around the village as she had been asked. And she did in fact know where she was, she had just been running blindly.

Where were the others, though? She didn’t immediately see them.

Aoi reached out in her mind’s eye grasping hold of her restless chakra, with a shaky grip she forced it out and her world lit up. She looked out for the signatures of her temporary teammate and sensei.

It was from the distance that a small reddish orange hair and a small child on her back, from the distance while she was coming back to the village, she noticed other genin running around. Or maybe they weren't genin? While she couldn't directly identify the ones doing it, it seemed like fun! Right? It was for fun? Asuka's eyes brightened with the small child on her back. "Hold on, kid! Let's go for a run!" Her seal had started to spread out again, in it's scary state to those who didn't know about it, over half of her small frame.

She caught up the two easily with her strength and just tried to run at a pace to see what was going on, "So, is this a game of tag? Or are we like playing some other game?" She asked asked the other two, who were both older than her. The child on her back seemed scared and out of place, but also very unkempt and dirty. While the other two had seemed attractive, Asuka was way too young to understand. The boy spoke out from her back, "C-Can you take me inside the building?" "Just a minute, wouldn't you want to have fun with other people?" The two talked back to each other for a moment as they waited for the older ones to respond.

(OOC: Starting hand is: Wind Release: Flower Scattering Dance, Whac-A-Mole Technique, Execution by Kiss, Earth Release: Earth-Style Rampart, Lava Release: Quicklime Congealing Technique)

"Okay so," Asp O'Javem Damuuddo began, "what do I get into today?" His eyes flicked across the Citizen Structure. The shifting of cards in his hands filled the air as he riffled through his deck. It had been a long time coming, Asp O'Javem Damuuddo's entrance into what could be considered normal village life. The past year he had felt as if in limbo, held up by some greater force that stopped him from doing things. The village seemed relatively quiet, odd given the whole war thing that was going on. It was almost like a dead storyline in some fanfiction. To go along with that seemingly dead end, Asp O'Javem Damuuddo found himself at the dead end of boredom. He had beaten all of the nerds at the local shop and was now walking around aimlessly, one of the few things he was an expert at.

The mindless motion was interrupted by a few running figures that caught his eye. Running usually meant one of a few things: you were being chased, you were chasing, or, in the case of child warriors of blood and thunder, you were training. The last option was one that intrigued Asp O'Javem Damuuddo, having never really needed to do that kind of thing. Taking off at a brisk jog, he moved to catch up to the running kiddos.

"Oi, you guys, the name is Asp O'Javem Damuuddo, like, the whole name every time. How are you guys doing? Need a running mate?" He asked, waving a hand filled with Shin-Oh-Bee-Yoh! cards.

Shiko was obviously just as surprised as their sensei with how things played out. Aoi kicking him was a bit annoying, and he wasn't quite sure how to handle it. He opted to just ignore her until she either apologized or found a way to make it up to him. The young teenager whipped his hair around and seemed determined to learn.

At least until she explained it.. Spider... Really? He looked down at his leg, and back to Aoi. What?

"I don't see a spider there... I guess that means your kick squished it... Good job, Aoi," he said seriously, with NO doubt whatsoever in her lie. Sufficed to say Shiko was not proficient in wisdom saving throws, nor did he have proficiency in the "insight" skill or a naturally high Wisdom score. This was very sub-optimal for a Monk.

Accepting the explanation, he ran with Aoi and the others and began doing laps around the village. He wasn't really expecting newcomers though, so as his sweaty toned body paced and stepped across the village streets, the young Monk was more than surprised. The young girl introduced herself... sorta (not really giving a name just... inviting herself along while asking what they were doing). Not that he cared that much. Extra company was always welcome.

"We're training with that weird old guy over there...,"
Shiko explained as quietly as he could, hoping that the words didn't reach their rent-a-sensei.

When the other guy showed up and asked the same thing, Shiko (a little annoyed at the repetition) answered back again.

"We're training... Running laps apparently. Wanna join us?"

What had once been a somewhat quiet, if awkward, training exercise had suddenly seemed to bloom into something much more social, too the antisocial man's chagrin. Masamune did not know the two (three?) new tag-along's identities, but each of them seemed keen to join in on the sudden running exercise. Am I a babysitter? He wondered to himself. If he were not so stoic, his eyes would have been raised in surprise and confusion, but instead when he was pointed to by Shiko, he simply raised his right hand in greeting to the new arrivals. He didn't really care if they joined in on the running, but did that mean he was responsible for teaching them, too? He felt like it would be impolite to just refuse them now, so he remained stationary at the starting line, instead producing a stopwatch to the time the group of children as they made their way around the village. "If you don't make the lap fast enough, I'm sending you all back to the Academy."

To add insult to injury, yet another newcomer entered the fray. This one had a particular pep in his step, having been all too excited to return back to his life as a shinobi. Strolling around the familiar areas of Kemurigakure brought a smile to the teen's face, recalling fond memories of gambling shenanigans from the past. "I remember this place," Bakuto mused, passing by a coffee shop positioned on the corner of an unpopular street in a seedier spot in town. "This is where I finessed that Yukimura guy out of a quarter million ryo." Further down the street were more memories, of poker and dice with street rats, hwatu and mahjong with nobles, even teaching kids how to play the best Shin-Oh-Bee-Yoh! cards at the right times.

As Bakuto came to the end of his walk down memory lane, his gaze shifted to a taller building that marked his destination. The red-haired teen approached it casually, making note of a gathering of younger folks surrounding an older one. "Must be them," the boy figured, making his way over to them. If they were to look in his direction, he'd simply throw his hand up and give a rather unenthusiastic wave, remembering that he was still stuck with genin. He looked to the older gentleman and tilted his head to the side, allowing his long, dangly earring to brush against his shoulder. "Am I in the right place? I was supposed to be meeting the team I was assigned to."

At lot happened at once, bright chakras bloomed into life all around. Mostly alarmingly, Shiko’s, right behind her. The surprise was nearly enough to send Aoi tumbling onto the asphalt. She wasn’t a fast runner but she hadn’t expected Shiko to be so close to her when they were a quarter of a mile away from their sensei (not that it mattered on a flat road that had yet to turn). Before she could fully collect herself a hyper ninja somehow much younger than even Aoi appeared with another child on her back, chirping quickly and loudly at Aoi.

Shiko stepped in speaking for them, surprising Aoi. Annoyance crept into his tone at the appearance of another incomer. Enough that Aoi who was used to him either being timid or perky was able to pick up on it. The annoyance was mirrored in Aoi’s heart, she was having a bad enough day without having to talk to strangers. Her face reflected none of that, completely blank like a doll’s.

Why are so many people showing up?

Neither Shiko or herself were charismatic people. Aoi didn’t think there was anything about herself that should draw anyone to her, just another genin.

Her ‘sensei’s’ voice came barking from behind her, carrying despite the distance. Aoi went pale.

THIS IS THE WORST DAY EVER.

Without a word to the newcomers Aoi sprinted off determined to make it, though her sensei hadn’t given her a time frame to finish the lap by. Aoi was not repeating a year just because she had the misfortune to talk to a weird ninja!

No more talking to strangers in the park, ever.

She nearly bowled into a red headed teen, she managed to just pivot around him. She staggered but kept on her feet and kept on running. “Sorry!” She called behind her to the red head.

NO MORE SHORTCUTS THROUGH THE PARK EITHER! She internally wailed as she ran her heart out.

The fun just semed like training, but after coming from a mission and everything, it might be a bit too much on Asuka at the time. She paused and let them keep running, "Welp if its not a game, I should go finish my part of my mission!" The small girl nodded her head as she turned around. It was way too many and she wanted to make friend, but she still had her own responsibilities as a genin. She instead started to walk towards the older man who was called sensei by the slightly older genin, looking up from really far down. "I might come back to run with everyone for fun, but I should go finish my mission before I do. So, if you're still having fun out here by the time I get back, I shall outrun all the others!" She said almost excited about it. Asuka knew if she pushed herself enough, that statement was almost probably true. The little girl was still new to everything, so she didn't know if what she wanted to do was fine.

(OOC: Drew Earth Release: Rock Lodging Destruction)

What had once felt like running along with only a few people, was now becoming a run with more than a few people. That wasn't necessarily a bad thing, the more the merrier was a common phrase and likely had grown so common for good reason. One of his first inklings as to why these folk were running had proven to be correct. No one just ran for no reason, and this was no different. These group of kiddos were training. "I don't need to train, doesn't do anything for me." He responded truthfully. "I'll run though, gives me something to do."

It was around this time, give or take, that the voice of the overlooking man called out. His statement was as much threat as it was deadpan. Asp O'Javem Damuuddo cut the guy a sidelong glance, a wicked grin on his face. "Empty threat, old man. The academy would never take me back and even if they somehow did, I'd graduate the same day. I'm something of a prodigy, but not in the way you'd think." He shot back, waving around the deck of cards in his hand as he maintained the pace he was originally running at.

Shiko was fast. Apparently the fastest Genin there (that much was evident). The young Monk was finely tuned to the physical realm from vigorous training of his body. His mind wasn't the sharpest thing, but his body was definitely well-conditioned. With every step he began to outpace the other Genin. His breath was a bit hard, but he was still moving with a moderate pace to his stamina.

The problem with running was that it was very hard to speak and run at the same time. Every bit of oxygen was precious, a commodity that could not be wasted on conversation. And so the young Monk restricted himself to small replies, trying to earnestly maintain the running pace without slowing down. It wasn't meant to be hurtful to the others. It wasn't about leaving them behind, it was more about doing his very best to push himself. And he wasn't going to be able to do that if he was slowing down his pace for their sake.

"Bye! Good luck!" he said to the young girl as he departed from the scene to complete her mission.

And yet Shiko was still running.

"Okay," he said acknowledging the strange lad joining them on their run.

Masamune's call to them ran the Monk's ears with a shriek. The Academy?! Fuck that! He wasn't even moving that slow! If Shiko wasn't running fast before, he DEFINITELY was at that point!

Next time, I'm letting the stupid old man have my bench spot...

Am I in hell? The assassin wondered, watching as the children, even those he did not deign to instruct, began the lap around the village. They were moving with some purpose, their speed not leaving that much to be desired, though their attitude could use some work. He eyed Asp in particular from behind the mask, and Masamune's eyes visibly rolled. No, this is worse. This is some kind of purgatory. If I was in hell I would know it. He let out a weary sigh as he examined their progress through the village, some of them seeming to take the exercise more seriously than others; he liked that. Dedication was always important, even if a task was simple, quick, or easy. Not taking something seriously was a recipe for destruction, and this test was, honestly, as much a mental one as it was a physical one. Or at least, that was the kind of justification he was going to go with, after having thought of it just now.

Upon arrival, the red-headed swordsman had been near-plowed into by a short-stacked little girl, who would only apologize and continue her race off into the distance. Bakuto opted to step off to the side of the girl's trajectory, assuming that more would be coming. As it turned out, this proved to be the case, and more folks had come bounding around the corner and down the path.

Bakuto turned towards the older man and took a few steps forward, standing beside him as he watched the street for the younger ones to come back into view again. "I'm guessing you're Masamune, yes?" the teen inquired, placing a hand on his hip, which caused the position of his blade to shift and the rings to jingle some. "I'm Bakuto Hanafuda. The higher-ups told me to meet a man named Masamune here; said I qualified for chuunin, but I'd only be re-enrolled if I agreed to join a fresh team of genin. I got a letter yesterday afternoon detailing my first meeting with the team, and now I'm here." He ran his fingers through his parted crimson hair with a free hand, closing his eyes for a brief moment as he did this. His posture was very relaxed, and his demeanor casual, as though he wasn't addressing a superior, but a colleague. His right hand outstretched, offering a handshake. "It's good to meet'cha."

Aoi kept running, as fast as she could without tiring herself out immediately. This man is the devil. Was her primary thought. It didn’t take long for Shinko to outpace her. Aoi huffed in frustration but there was nothing for it but to keep putting in effort and trying her best.

With no response from the man, Asuka took her leave with the little boy. She was ready to complete her mission and was on her way to head through the gates that were nearby. She ignored everything else going on, for it didn't matter anymore!

Well. This sure was a good first impression.

Bakuto shrugged, having stood there for multiple minutes without a response from the man opposite him. "Good, uh.... good talk, buddy." Bakuto spoke, unsure of how to even proceed. Should he stay? Should he leave?

The red-head chose the latter option, ruffling his own hair before turning and walking back down the street he came from. "Welp. Seeya later, man. If ya need me, just come find me, I guess."
