Name of Contract:
Ethereum is a spiritual Boltzman Brain, a self-aware entity randomly assembled via an ultra rare thermodynamic fluctuation. Ethereum is the sole summon of this contract, similar to how Katsuyu is the only summon of the Slug Contract. Ethereum resides in a place known only to Chen as "The Jūkyo". The Jūkyo is an dimension in between dimensions. Its defining characteristics is in the fact that the space and corporeality of the dimension is entirely made up of structures and landmasses that exist in this world. This means that if one were to visit The Jūkyo they would notice that it was entirely identical to our world aside from the fact that: (1) it is entirely desolate and (2) the environment is rundown, foul, and similar that to a nuclear winter.
Ethereum's usual form as he manifests in our world is that of a gas or mist. Ethereum's mere presence is extremely cold producing sub-zero temperatures just by existing. The holder of the contract is not susceptible to the negative effects of Ethereum's poison, terraforming, or illusions. They can also see through the fog of his presence.
Ethereum's true form in Jūkyo is that of a massive creature.
Ethereum's true form:
Portions of Ethereum can be summoned with the amount corresponding to a specific rank. His presence is that of a poisonous and terraforming sentient miasma capable of producing illusions. When summoned Ethereum will drastically effect the environment by his sheer presence. He is also able to perform more complex techniques in order to transform the landscape further and bring mental ruination upon his summoner's enemies. Minor portions of Ethereum will manifest as a mist with minor alterations to the area around it whereas major portions of Ethereum are capable of disfiguring the landscape to produce tunnels, sinkholes, and other geological monstrosities. The boss of this contract is of course Ethereum himself who if summoned by a particularly adept Kuchiyose user may fully enter this world in all of its grotesque glory.
Ethereum's personality is not comprehensible to the human mind. He has not seen fit to talk about his motivations or desires. In fact, the only thing Chen knows about Ethereum aside from his mechanical functions and abilities is that he is extremely old
. Ethereum's residence in the Jūkyo gives him a bit of access to other dimensions and realities but nothing of significance. His connection to this world is the strongest and he is able to occasionally borrow into it from various entry points around the globe to accumulate knowledge by influencing the unwary via Genjutsu and getting them to speak to him about the world beyond his own. Communication between him and others (including Chen) is fairly binary and based in fact. He may ask questions based in fact and seek specific answers. He also gives highly technical and specific answers to questions that have a factual answer. Opinionated questions such as: "How are you doing?" will be met with complete silence. There is nothing in the way of "small talk" and any information he imparts to Chen usually is on a need-to-know basis (his abilities, limitations, etc etc). Commands are given and followed telepathically. Chen strongly suspects that Ethereum is malevolent but he hasn't been able to prove it. So far the summon has done nothing "bad" and has only followed orders.
Ethereum is summoned via a tear in the fabric of space-time created by the contract holder. The tear is created by the user cutting or stabbing the ground (or any solid surface) with the explicit intention of opening a portal to the Jūkyo. The tear rapidly expands as though a spider-crack were being created before it morphs into a full blown portal. The tear is created by any mildly sharp object or the user can stomp the ground and create a split in the earth if the user has Earth Release. Once the portal is created, the Ethereum's presence bleeds into the real world.
