Ty Lee Shikome
Faction of Origin:
Shikome, Level 5 Inhaling Maw
Ty Lee wears a typical Suna garb however she doesn't have sleeves on her outfit. Her hair is always up in messy pigtails. Usually seen wearing a mask meant to help deal with the sands of Sunagakure and the smells of the grave her family is obliged to take care of. She wields a long Rope Dart wrapped around her left palm hiding her Youkai Mark and draped around her shoulders before wrapping around her right arm as well. Her forehead protector is worn as a bow around her neck.
History: "When you're older, you'll understand."
That single five word sentence would become Ty Lee's most hated thing in the world. She wasn't too young to understand. She wasn't just some kid who didn't question the world around her. The Shikome Clan, glorified undertakers, gravekeepers; a lineage of those who live with the dead. Ty Lee was certain though, that you could not live with the dead and not end up dead. That idea burned within the young Shikome, a blue flame that would light the path of her life. Her father was the head of the clan. He was okay with his position in life. In fact, he loved his position as a Shikome.
"Ty Lee, my dear,"
he started one day, "why do you hate your lot in life so passionately?"
The young Ty Lee sat, her legs folded under her, beside her father's bed. "Do you not hate your lot, father?"
The head of the Shikome clan, Saijin Shikome, let out a small humorless laugh. "What do you believe happens to your brothers and sisters in battle when their time comes? Do you believe they just cease to be, that everything that made them, their body; their spirit; their mind; that it all ceases to exist? That is not what we believe, Ty Lee. We Shikome know that there is more to life than death and more to death than a sudden abrupt end. Can't you see that without the Shikome, your comrades would never have peace. Their souls would walk the world, wandering until eternity decides it is time for all things to end. It is our duty to put them to rest. To honor their lives with a grave fitting for their actions."
Ty Lee clenched her fists, fighting back the rage that filled her. "But why us father? Why are we the ones burdened with death as a daily part of our lives? Why must we surround ourselves with corpses and rot and decay? Why must we live among the dead as if they were still our brothers and sisters?"
Her father cut her a stare that would cripple a normal human being. "TY LEE! Do you mean to say that once one of your brothers or sisters in arms dies, they cease to be family? What of me then? When the day comes that I pass, do I cease to be your father? Would my love and sacrifice for you mean nothing once I am gone?"
Ty Lee quivered under her father's gaze, his harsh tone wilting her under it's heat. "That isn't what I meant father... What I meant was...Why are we the clan who has to live with the memories of the past? The ghosts of war? We are surrounded by the echoes of bloodshed. We are born into death, father. Our clan isn't given the chance to live."
Her father's glare subsided slightly, but behind his calming demeanor the flames in his eyes stayed burning. "Our clan was chosen because we are strong people. Our clan was chosen because no other clan would be able to handle the travesties of this world. The Shikome are a necessity to our brothers and sisters. We place their loved ones to rest. We make sure the afterlife is ready for them. We see them through to the other side of life. We were chosen in Kumogakure for the same reason we were chose in Sunagakure. It is in our blood to be the final chapter of every shinobi's life."
Ty Lee stood from her father's side, "I do not wish to be the final chapter in someone else's story, father. I want more for our clan. We deserve the same chance as the brothers and sisters you seem to care about so much. Do you care more for their ending than your own life? Do you care more for their death than my life? I can not, and will not accept this fate, father. We are capable of so much more than digging graves and maintaining headstones."
Her father turned his eyes away from his daughter. His face seemed to age a decade in the span of mere seconds. Softly, he would say the final sentence of this conversation. "When you're older, you'll understand."
The wind had noticeably been taken out of his sails and his chest heaved with the words.
Ty Lee felt her entire body begin shaking, "When the final chapter of my life is written, father, the Shikome will be free. Free from the confines of graveyards. Free from the feeling of all-encompassing death. Free from the notion that another's death is more important than living one's own life. I swear it."
With that, she turned and left her father's room. The head of the clan sat in his bed, covers to his waist. He let out a long and defeated sigh. "No matter the freedom in life, we all die the same Ty Lee. I hope one day you'll understand."

The Supposed Savior of the Shikome:
Ty Lee's goal in life is to show the world that her clan is so much more than gravekeepers; Can purchase all levels of the Inhaling Maw as well as starts with Youkai Mark and access to Inhaling Maw and Judgment.
Through This I've Realized:
Ty Lee's Meiton techniques are considered one rank higher in power. This can not cause a Technique to exceed S-Rank, obviously.
Ty Lee's fixation with techniques of her clan causes other techniques to be hard to grasp. Non-Shikome techniques require double WC/CP
That if I were God We'd All Just Die:
Ty Lee's dedication to her clan and it's techniques has caused her to shrug off the effectiveness of "lesser" techniques. Non-Shikome Ninjutsu are considered one rank lower in power. This can not cause a Technique to go below D-Rank, obviously.
