Chojiro was born into the Akimichi clan, blessed enough to be born the heir to in fact. His infancy was uneventful for the most part. In almost every aspect he was a normal Akimichi, though no matter how much he ate, he never seemed to gain weight like most of his clan. It was discovered even at a young age that Chojiro's mastery of Calorie Control was much more adept than even the higher-ups of his clan. The young boy also seemed to be much more lively and active than others of his family, quickly getting into sports at a young age.
Eventually Chojiro was introduced to Shikaji Nara and Inoe Yamanaka. The three were destined to become their generation's Ino-Shika-Cho members and little did he know, but they would also become his lifelong best friends. He didn't know much about either when they were introduced but something about Shikaji always struck him as off. Inoe in private conversations would always tell him he was worrying about nothing.
During his time at the academy, Chojiro breezed by the exams and spent most of his time roughhousing or hitting on girls. Inoe and Shikaji did their best to keep him in line but the Akimichi's hunger for victory was only matched by his actual hunger. On more than a few occassions it took the combined efforts of his friends to pry him away from a game after he had played for multiple hours without moving.
Chojiro's talents manifested in the typical fashion of his clan, Yang Release that showed itself in the taijutsu known to the Akimichi. In a twist of coincidence, his friend Shikaji began to focus more on Yin Release through both his own clan's techniques and Genjutsu. This was the starting point of their little rivalry based solely on which side they believed to be stronger, Yang or Yin. That friendly rivalry carries on to this day, but is currently sitting at a draw.
By the age of ten, Chojiro, Inoe, and Shikaji had managed to become Genin. They each received their earrings from their sensei, a member of the Sarutobi clan. This was a monumentous occasion in the Akimichi's life and he couldn't have had better friends to share it with. During this brief period he honed his attentive capabilities and began to study on Sensory techniques.
In what seemed like the blink of an eye a year had passed and their rank had changed. The road from Genin to Chuunin had been short but eventful. The Exams proper were some of the most fun that the Akimichi had ever had. He got to fight against so many new people and experience so many new things. The three of them didn't stand out individually but were promoted and noted for their expert teamwork. The finals pit them against three elite genin from Kemurigakure, each of which was being praised for their performance, but the three were just that, three. The combination of Ino-Shika-Cho acting as one easily defeated them.
A mission to the newly liberated Kumogakure began as routinely as possible. Chojiro, despite his best efforts, was unable to sense the enemy however and the three were found out not long after they began their espionage. In the battle that ensued Inoe fell. He and Shikaji couldn't save her, instead only able to wear an earring of hers to remember her by. The trio returned missing a member and Chojiro missing a part of himself as well. The three had always done everything together but it was Inoe's idea for them to all become Jounin. Without her, he and Shikaji agreed to never take the rank, instead settling for Tokubetsu Jounin. Shikaji was promoted based on his skill with Genjutsu and Chojiro for his skill in Taijutsu. Along with their promotion, the two were assigned to the Kaisekihan branch of Konohagakure Intelligence Division, where they continue to work in the present day.
