Anna watched while Flay flounder to assert his authority as a jounin over the eighty pound genin who spent most of her time following orders, only for Rose to interrupt her.
"The Raikage is coming"
she commented as her ears twitched lightly.
Anna responded in turn with seeming disinterest, yet a slight raise in her tone convinced the cat to continue. "Monks walk differently then ninja's and his battle armor makes a unique sound as it moves that standard ninja armor doesn't quite replicate"
. After the explanation a moment passed, before Anna subtly shifted her gaze toward the direction he was approaching from and whispered, "thank you"
to her companion.
As she watched him approach she saw his militant facade slip for just a second, as he stared at the two at the gate much to her confusion. Sure, the two where playing a game when their time could be better spent; however, if his apprentices where anything to go by then he wasn't all that strict about such things.
"Bwhaahahhaha" the voice in her head erupted in laughter at that thought. "I doubt you would know about its history, but the bell test was originally created by the land of fire; as a way of testing their genin. Sure that was over five hundred years ago, but it is a practice they still participate in today and was likely a forced change that occured after Konoha conquered Kumo. You'll be lucky if you get away with a mere Liger bomb like his red haired apprentice" the demon finished laughing without hesitation. "He wouldn't" she thought back, but while she could say it out loud without any hesitation here in her mind her uncertainty shined through. His apprentice was immortal after all, but if push came to shove her jinjuriki nature would afford her similar resilience to the attack.
As Flay finished describing the terms of their contest another unknown approached, from behind them. Initially he didn't put much thought into who it could be. They lacked a powerful chakra signiture, so they couldn't be too important after all
; however, before he could continue with his contest Sulphur's sharp claws dug into his skin. "Turn around Flay and take a knee. before you embarrass us."
Sulphur's whispers dug into Flay's ears as he turned and followed his orders.
As the armored figure approached, there was an expectation that silence would fall on the group of people. ”Flay, Anna. There is an important question which I have absentmindedly skipped over, I must say. How has your seal been treating you? Have you strained it at all?” It wouldn’t do to have his jinchuuriki going wild during the fight because he had neglected proper maintenance of the formula that kept it at bay.
"L-lord Raikage, I have kept a close watch on my sister's condition and can safely say that Isobu has been firmly under control."
Flay spoke as he matched whatever gaze the man had on.
Anna for her part stood up and performed a light bow with one hand over her chest and the other behind her back. "It is as my brother has said."
she spoke as she ignored the demon parodying her lines as it continued to try disturb her calm demeanor by conjuring thoughts of the Raikage's possible wrath to minor effect. "The seal is holding firm and while I have tested its resilience once or twice so that i can get used to beast chakra in an emergency, the seal has shown only the smallest signs of damage."
She continued as she walked up to the Raikage. "Would you like to examine it?"
she finished as she stopped ten feet away from him.
