Seigi had sensed Hayate as he came up after him, and had hoped that taking the soldier hostage would have prevented him from following, possibly even allowing everyone to come out of this with their lives. He had offered them peace and they had attacked him twice, solidifying his decision to begin his own assault back. With his grip still on the man's throat, Seigi would move quickly, tossing the man towards Hayate's path as he kicked, then quickly bringing his hands together, feeling the sudden urge of chakra vibrate along his skin, like a bell that constantly rang, a gentle hum of energy in his cells. Forming three signs, Tiger -> Snake -> Dog, and extending his arm outwards. His goal was simple, to catch all three of them, the bird, the shinobi he threw, and the one pursuing him all in one quick blast of electrical energy. Lightning extended from Seigi's outstretched arm, towards the trifecta of opponents before him. As lightning tore from his fingertips, threatening everything in it's path, extending to every conductor it could, Seigi's other hand moved to action, to defend against Hayate's kick.
If the electricity wasn't enough to stop Hayate, Seigi would bring up his arm to defend against it, feeling the brute force of Hayate's kick, more power packed into his magnified frame than what Seigi anticipated. He could sense chakra signatures but couldn't sense just how strong his opponents were. Maybe he could learn that somehow later. The force of the kick alone was enough to put some distance between he and Hayate, Seigi rolling with the kick, keeping his momentum backwards. His arm throbbed in pain, already beginning to swell. The cold ocean helped, but not much. He needed to keep his own cool.
Oddly enough, a weird sort of rage began to rise up into him. Their commander, his opponent... Seigi had offered them the chance to keep their lives and didn't hesitate to move. Had he not heard him or was he simply that cold? Seigi didn't have time to place peacefully anymore, he had to strike and strike hard, but first he needed to see how his opponent was going to react...
