For Kanari, time seemed to slow; in the mind of a man so naturally gifted with speed, it was a luxury he had grown accustomed to. Ran might be able, through great effort and sacrifice, to match the Handsome Monkey's impressive body, but only
through great effort and sacrifice. Where those that could achieve these feats with little to no effort were few and far between, she would do well to remember one thing: She was a guest in this, Kanari's world.
Time was the key thing that each of these kiddos had do contend with; and, this
time, he would show them just how outclassed they were. Three things of note occurred at Kanari's front, Team 0. The first, Tekokura's weaving of seals. While certainly quick, were sluggish as the Handsome Monkey's mind's eye watched the chakra begin to fluctuate within him. Another water technique, a projectile….
While he did so, the young turtle made a surprising leap for the skies with unexpected wings. And an aerial assault... Two of them...
The only movement not seen by the collections of clones came from the boy that shot the magic arrow beforehand.
Teleportation?! There's no way someone could be fast enough to trick my sensory...
With the prevalence of Flying Thunder God in the village, it wasn't that
unlikely to see, but it was certainly unexpected. While the original probably could have dealt with his shot, he would be busy dealing with the former shen
anigans. And not one, but now two sharingan…
Without a doubt, they were a promising bunch.
With a sudden kick off, the camouflaged Handsome Monkey took to his natural habitat. The other stationary clones stood by in preparation for whatever else might occur. It was the final Team 0 guard that drew the short stick as yet another arrow coming in without warning and took it from behind. It poofed as three more puffs of smoke took shape with his ascent; one after another, these clones appeared and the end of gripped Ruyi Jingu Bang before Kanari whipped them towards their new destinations.
The first, to the dragon head of water as it began to bud from the pools below; the second, to the turtle as it launched its apparent favorite technique from above; the third, to the scroll thrown by the boy. A sudden silence befell the area before each of the newly formed clones exploded with a tremendous violence that the youngins have likely never seen. The ground shook with their fury and a the ensuing gust would warrant a good covering of one's face. Each explosion occurred with impeccable timing and placement against Team 0.
The bottommost explosion, just high enough to allow the clone closest to Kanari to leap away from their concentric positions to safety, blasted through the forming dragon’s head and the earth below. A wide crater, though shallow, would be enough for the wiser shinobi to know that something was up. The clone could have been closer to the ground before it exploded or thrown at a different angle and it still would have destroyed the dragon, but it would have also caught them in the blast. It was the turtle who was least fortunate. To stop the barrage, the topmost exploding clone was forced to get in close enough for buffeting energy to force him back as well. The sheer force behind it, while at a weakened distance, would daze the turtle at worst and knock him out cold at best. Inelegant... People will have heard that.
All of this played backdrop to the clone that assaulted Ran’s. Its approach was swift, but she had seemed prepared for it. With the disappearance of the clone, it suddenly became clear: It was some sort of distraction. The clone was decidedly not focused on the rogue shinobi, but he was now. Predicting her right arm deflection, its trajectory changed and brought the clone upwards instead. This effort… She’s holding nothing back.
As it flew over her elbow, another clone came to a stop on the ground opposite where the previous one ended up. Strike not forthcoming, the clone’s staff was placed solely on defense. She sought weakness, but she wouldn’t find one. Remaining lofted as it slowly backed from her encroaching barrage, she wouldn’t even be able to trip him up.
Still, as the original watched from on high, he couldn’t help but notice just how feverishly she attacked. She’s a jinchuuriki… Since when? And the gates… Ran, just what do you want.
It was becoming clear to Kanari that he would have to stay here. He dropped fast, moving into the cover of the trees and away from the young Uchihas' prying eyes before 10 more clones appeared around him. They would immediately kick off, their presence really only apparent to the Inuzuka, before they would simply be gone and headed to the village.
She continued to hack and slash like a rabid beast, coated in brilliant green, but Kanari’s staff would turn. To meet one fist and knock the blade, the opposite end came to a sudden rotation to place it just in time for her opposite. It would be a beautiful display to those that watched; quick and fluid movements on both sides, speed and placement at what even the most powerful of shinobi would call the absolute pinnacle of their bodies. Her grin did not go unnoticed as she pummeled with a force that, admittedly, surprised the Handsome Monkey; but what reason did she have to push this
hard? Worry began to overtake the man, staff still moving to intercept. Worry for the Team 0, worry for Konoha, worry for Ran. All the while, the clone he had created gave only two staff length's space between it and the two combatants
“What's going on, Ran?”
The clone would started casually among the melodious clashing of their weapons. The force behind each blow was enough to sent dust and small debris flying from their positions and a palpable impression against the chests of those that watched. Were it anyone else, she would have turned them to mince meat. “Gate?”
A slight grunt escaped the Handsome Monkey as he pushed hard against one last punch and retreated with a slightly quickened pace in a hopeful effort to ease her potentially calamitous battery with distance. And those eyes... Sharingan? No...
“What is your work?”
Staggering and blur, such words were not how Kanari would describe this assault. This was his wheelhouse, where he rested comfortably without aid of the gates or a tailed beast. She was in it for the sprint, it seemed; but this was Kanari’s pace, and it would be a marathon. With any luck, she would soon realize the breadth of disparity between their weapon prowess, but eventually it would not matter. Aggro or control, she was always fighting a losing battle.
Meanwhile, the other clones would not remain idle for long. Each activating their own sensory abilities after the unexpected shot from Mutsuko, they each moved fast. One would move towards each of them, standing at a readied stance some ten meters away and pointing their staffs with furrowed brows and harsh eyes. “Run away. Watch the village, here is Ran Inuzuka.”
Kanari reappeared in the air above them all. Oh, and one of them hit the ground real hard and real far from the rest of them. Would you believe that this whole thing occurred in only a few seconds?
